North of Miradouro de Săo Pedro de Alcantara is the district of Principe Real, essentially an extention of Bairro Alto, with a pleasant square and shady garden. In the center of the square is a café and some exotic trees, including a hundred-year-old cedar that looks like a giant umbrella, all surrounded by colorful 19th century mansions.

I used to make spicy beans from a recipe I cant find. I made this one up.
Pinto beans, chopped tomatoes, onion, carrot, parsnip, red pepper, garlic, ginger, peppercorns, cinnamon stick, bay leaf, paprika, thyme, whole clove, fennel seed, cumin and coriander.
Slow baked for about 4 hours. Bloomin loverly!
