I need a name for this guy. I’m looking for wacky but not too wacky so good luck! Best name wins!

Reads Landing is a location on the Mississippi where Bald Eagles overwinter. Much of the river is frozen to the north but at Reads Landing there is ample open water to allow the eagles to hunt for fish. It's a great place to photograph these magnificent birds.

This was my naff attempt at people capture whilst we were relaxing on the boardwalk/pier at Granville Island. This guy had cycled over to the other side and was engrossed in a newspaper I think.

You may read a story “Deep in the Wilds of Fiordland” about my multi-day expedition to the shores of that lake.

“Deep in the Wilds of Fiordland” is an immersive nature memoir that follows a solo journey through the untouched wilderness of New Zealand’s Fiordland. Inspired by the introspective spirit of Thoreau, Muir, and Dillard, this poetic narrative explores themes of solitude, self-discovery, and connection to nature’s raw beauty, reflecting the timeless ideas of transcendentalism. From traversing dense rainforests to contemplating life by pristine lakes, this story invites readers to experience the serenity and transformative power of true wilderness adventure.

I can't read the inscription, it has a identifying mark. I think the first name is Ian.

UPDATE: Ian Lamb is the Artist. He made this piece 27 years ago, he is a friend of my ex husband's family, and he was at my wedding, but I only ever saw him that one time.

UPDATE 2: If you read the stamp viewing it from standing on the left vertical of the photo, it is a captial letter "I" and L" for Ian Lamb.

An old fox one that's been on before but please read this if you have the time, it's horrifying but they need to be caught. This is close to where we live and I've had dead cubs dumped to scare me away before, close to home in both respects.

A few days ago near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire a pregnant vixen was found cut in half and her tiny cubs had been ripped from her belly. The image is too graphic for the LACS to show properly but their statement is here on Twitter

Hopefully it will make the local ( and ideally national ) news, it's rumoured the appalling act is connected with the Belvoir Hunt but obviously that's not been proven.

Please share this if possible if you're on FB or Twitter, people have been caught many times through the power of social media, it is possible.

i want to apologize guys for being much worse contact than i used to be. and to apologize even more, because it's not going to change anytime soon, it might get worse.

i need to change a lot of things. starting here.

i need to change my priorities. change the way i spend my time.

i will keep some of the reasons for myself, but the biggest point is that if i don't do anything it will get worse with me. i want to start running. i can't, because of my ankle, but i at least want to do something with myself before i am able to do so. i want to stop using my computer so much. i realized that beside school, meals, sleep and sometimes tv i spend all of my time on computer, which means especially on flickr. i don't say it's only wasting of time, i love getting to know you, but mostly it is wasting time. i want to invest it into something bigger. i had a lot of dreams. year ago. i was someone else. and i want something from this different me. not everything, some things were not good, but i lost some of the beautiful things from myself too. i want to get my dreams and hopes back. my beliefs that everything is possible. the more my family, my mum needs me, the more i close myself in my room with computer, run away from this world. thinking i can run away from all the problems and pain. but it only gets worse with this.

i love you guys so much, you have no idea how much you're helping me.

*PLEASE READ*

Cooper going full blast in the snowmobile trails, oblivious to the slow sign. I normally would have had Cooper bigger, focusing on his athletic prowesses, but I wanted to include the sign as it has a nice contrast of action.

Hello everyone! It's that time of the year again. 2018 is coming to a close, and I thought I'd update you guys.

The biggest news I have is that, I now have an Instagram account! My username is metarix_studios.

You can follow me here: www.instagram.com/metarix_studios/

No, that doesn't mean I'll stop posting on flickr! But with the 1000 photo restriction that they are putting into place, I thought it would be nice to expand onto a new platform. I'll be posting the same stuff on both accounts, but i'll be posting more bonus content on Instagram (such as WIP, non-lego stuff). If you guys have an account make sure to follow, so you don't miss out!

I've also recetely reached 700 followers on here, so thanks a lot for those that follow me! It really does mean a lot!

In addition now is a good of a time as any to also un-shamelessness promote my youtube channel. It doesn't have to do much with lego but I post Marvel, and Doctor Who content, so if you're into that you could subscribe to me here: www.youtube.com/channel/UCikCJ2MV3tXLvBnGD6-m51w?view_as=...

I'll be posting a top 10 personal favorite photos of 2018 near the end of the year as well, so be sure to keep an eye out for that!

Read Bridge is located at Clarke Quay, Singapore. It crosses the Singapore River linking Clarke Quay to Swissôtel Merchant Court. The bridge was built in 1881 and completed in 1889.

While I love Mike Psiaki's 6-wide JP Explorer, I have a special place in my heart for 5-wide vehicles and the challenge they present. I've wanted to do this ever since I did my Jurassic Park Jeep.

So for many of you (who know) Brickfair Alabama is coming up in a week, actually less maybe, but I want to ask for those who are going, and that my WIPs are done but, I am not posting anymore pictures till the end or during BFAL. You've been tagged you've already said your're going.

NO POSTS TILL BF BTW

You read that right, this is the 3 year anniversary of my first post on Flickr.

What a ride it has been thus far. Many ups, many downs, many laughs, many tears... I can't thank this site enough for the experiences it's brought me, both good and bad. It's shaped me into who I am now and who I am in the process of becoming.

And I want to thank all 178 of you for sticking with and supporting me. I know to some this site is dead, but in my eyes it is invincible, and I shan't leave until I'm forced to.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, I will be holding a Q&A in the comment section. Ask whatever you please (unless the question is offensive and/or inappropriate, in-which case I'll delete your comment)

Well I've been quiet recently and that has to do with school. I'm now in college and I don't have time to build like before. I have to take a break from Flickr, but I will be back for school breaks as much as I can. Don't worry though, Kamino is in the process of being worked on and I will post it soon, within the nest couple of days. This is just something I took a picture of since I'm visiting home for the weekend. I promise I'm not leaving Flickr, I just simply must focus on school. Get excited! I'm gonna unleash Kamino, and it's by far my biggest accomplishment.

SPOTLIGHT ON THE BALD EAGLE’S ALL-AMERICAN COMEBACK IN NEW JERSEY

by Lindsay McNamara, Communications Manager

June 20th 2016

In 1985 — just 31 years ago — a single bald eagle nest remained in the state of New Jersey. In 2015, CWF and partners monitored 161 nests throughout the Garden State. Just this year (as of June 20, 2016), over 50 young eagles have already fledged from their nests! What sparked this All-American comeback of the United States’ National Bird?

DDT use was banned in the United States in 1972. That ban combined with restoration efforts by biologists within the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife’s Endangered and Nongame Species Program (ENSP) resulted in 25 bald eagle pairs by 2000.

In 2017 the number of New Jersey active bald eagle pairs was 170.
