First attempt at experimenting with flash. Didn't have a proper flash so i used the pop up flash in my camera
I watched a show on Amazon Prime, Chaco Canyon. I have driven by it for many years and I have never stopped. The ruins were built between 850 -1250 AD. The people that created also setup their buildings to reflect the movement the sun and the moon, or that is what the scientist say. Way above my head.
The thing that got me they also have a picture showing the Alien Throne. They never explained it, but makes me wonder if there was some connection between the Chaco Canyon and the Throne. They never say anything about it. They do say a road went straight north to the Valley of Dreams area.
So If anyone has any information that shows a link between Chaco Canyon area and the Alien Throne I would appreciate seeing it.
thanks

I LOVE rocks, have collected them all my life, and many times, friends who travel bring back rocks for me! These are mixes from all over the world. I have them on top of the soil in some of my large flower pots. That way, I see them every time I water! And yes, I have to take the rocks OFF when I move plants in! I am pretty sure they add 5 lbs to the pots! :)
I've never considered myself the most observant person. In fact, I must have walked by this same bike rack in the village thousands of times without a second thought. It’s funny how something so mundane can suddenly reveal its potential. Today, I finally noticed how the light hits it just right, contrasting the black rails against white walls and the way the rack recedes when you view it from a low angle. It struck me that this was a photograph waiting to be taken. This moment made me realize how often we overlook the beauty in everyday things. Being observant isn’t just about seeing with your eyes but also about experiencing with your mind and heart. Sometimes, all it takes is a slight shift in perspective to appreciate the hidden gems in our daily surroundings. So, here’s to paying a bit more attention and discovering the unnoticed wonders that have always been right in front of us.

Episode XXXIV
Hi Folks,
while we were all listening to Cousin PADDY’s interesting life in Peru and treating our taste buds with a bucket of honey, we heard a terrible screaming outside in our Wild Garden. Oh no, not little MAGNUS again !!! I ran outside as fast as I could, where this yelling was so loud that my eardrums were almost perforated. Our little Master of Disaster had fallen into the wild stream and was fighting against the heavy swirls. Babybears can swim, but MAGNUS had not enough power to win the fight against the swirls. I jumped into the ice cold wild water and tried to get hold of the little baby bear. Finally I managed to get him out of the water and pressed my paws against his little chest to get the water out which he had swallowed. And soon MAGNUS was okay again, but still in a state of shock like a deer in headlights. Although we bears can shake all the water out of our fluffy fur, we both were still a bit wet. So it was best to hang MAGNUS on the washing line to dry and I joined him to make sure he would not escape again. One disaster a day is really enough, especially on a day like this when SHE is coming home …….

You can read the description engraved on this old Welsh miner's lamp for yourself. Just enlarge. It is indeed a beautiful antique object of great personal historic significance.
Both my grandfathers had been coal miners. My father's father had come from the Rhondda Valley in Wales and had worked in the mines there until his mid twenties. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhondda
My mother's father spent all his working life in the Queensland coal mines around Ipswich, the last 30 of which were spent in the Queensland Mine's Rescue Service (for which he was awarded the British Empire Medal).
Whilst on a visit with friends in England in 1979, my parents were presented with this lamp (since their friends knew of the family mining links). It had been found in the attic of a church in Edgeware, London. How it got there we don't know, although it is possible that the Welsh miner who owned it, Ned Morgan ( a very Welsh name is Morgan), was converted during the Welsh Revival that began in 1904, and after moving to London later in life presented it to the church. But we can't be sure.
At least we can be sure of this much. The lamp is now in my safekeeping, and it is not for sale at any price.
It is interesting to know that the date on this lamp (1907) was during the time that the Beaconsfield gold mine was in full production.
