RAP Camp 2014! The 2014 RAP Camp 2014 "rapped" with 71 students and 30 staff at Camp Esther Applegate on Lake of the Woods. Over the course of six days students participated in field trips and outdoor activities that exposed them to natural resource disciplines such as forestry, fisheries, wildlife, range, riparian, geology, recreation, fire and cultural resources! Way to go CAMPERS!

I'm the one that get's the bum rap when it comes to jumpshots, so I was pretty excited to post this shot. See Ash and the family are headed out of town for Thanksgiving but she wanted to get some family photos first. Who am I to say no, and I figured we'd grab a jumpshot or two. But Ash kept saying "more jumpshots!" and "Get over here Rick." and "Just ignore my family!" So like any smart dude, I did what I was told :)

An eastbound merchandise extra (note the white class lights) arrives on scene. This was still the era of the boxcar, and if there were any pigs to be moved they would be tacked onto the rear of other trains. I always loved to catch a U-boat; back then GE was the underdog, plus I loved the sound of their rapping exhaust. It may sound hard to believe, but back in 1974 seeing a UP engine was an exciting thing! Little did we know that they were just advanced scouts of The Borg.
