RAP Camp 2014! The 2014 RAP Camp 2014 "rapped" with 71 students and 30 staff at Camp Esther Applegate on Lake of the Woods. Over the course of six days students participated in field trips and outdoor activities that exposed them to natural resource disciplines such as forestry, fisheries, wildlife, range, riparian, geology, recreation, fire and cultural resources! Way to go CAMPERS!

Rapper sword dancing originated in the mining communities of the north east. A rapper is a short flexible length of steel with a fixed handle at one end and a swivel handle at the other. A rapper team consists of 5 men. Without letting go of the swords the dancers step over and under the linked swords, and may even somersault over them! The music is fast and the steps are not unlike a kind of tapdance. This team is called Stone Monkey Sword Dancers and were very exciting to watch!

On Sunday my wife and I visited the cat sanctuary on No. 6 Road Richmond which is operated by Richmond Animal Protection Society (RAPS).
This is the largest cats sanctuary for homesless and abandoned cats in North America.
Daisy is the little beauty lying between my wife's arms. She has genetic problem like Down synchrome in human. Her face is disfigured and her eye sight was impaired. But I find her the most beautiful and cutest cat in the cat sanctuary.
RAPS is a "No Kill" shelter i.e. they will not kill the animals even when they are not adopted after a period of time or being sick etc.
