With some careful stalking this rabbit allowed me to get quite close. His/her warren was on the edge of the woodland adjacent to a grassland meadow.

These poses all reminded me of the animated rabbits in "Watership Down"

Shot through the glass patio door. It's rare to see one of these guys even at dusk in my yard.

Late in the day, the rabbits come out to browse along the trails at Rancho San Antonio.

This rabbit grazed undisturbed, only 10 to 15 feet from me, while i was photographing the moon. This rabbit likely resides in or near my backyard. With good summer rains, the grazing is easy for these guys.

This is Black-tailed Jackrabbit that thinks he is hiding. They were originally called a jackass rabbit because of the large ears, it is a hare and not really a rabbit, the young are born with fur and their eyes open.
