With some careful stalking this rabbit allowed me to get quite close. His/her warren was on the edge of the woodland adjacent to a grassland meadow.

Sitting along the park road. I'm guessing his/her ears are torn up from fighting with other rabbits?
This rabbit grazed undisturbed, only 10 to 15 feet from me, while i was photographing the moon. This rabbit likely resides in or near my backyard. With good summer rains, the grazing is easy for these guys.

This is Black-tailed Jackrabbit that thinks he is hiding. They were originally called a jackass rabbit because of the large ears, it is a hare and not really a rabbit, the young are born with fur and their eyes open.
