Seven Kings garage gained a sort of notoriety due to its one hundred per cent RT fleet, but this came to an end on 15th October 1977 when route 150 was converted to DMS operation. RT 4126 (AP) stands in Argyle Road, Ilford four months before the conversion. Monday 13th June 1977. 3V-4.
This was one of two RTs owned by Capital Radio. If you look closely at the platform, you can see what the elephant did to it!
Displaying full blinds all round, RT 3016 (SP) is viewed again this time on the 229 turning from Arbuthnot Road in Bridgen. It remained in service at Barking up to 7th April 1979, the last day of RT operation, working the 62 until replaced by a Routemaster during the morning. Wednesday 18th May 1977. 3T-10.

RT2293 displaying blinds for Sidcup garage route 21 (Moorgate & Foots Cray). Occasional journeys on this route used to terminate at West Kingsdown, just beyond Brands Hatch in Kent.
RT 3251 (BK) passes its home garage as part of the cavalcade on the last day of RTs in London. Saturday 7th April 1979. 5A-14.

The only Country route to lose RTs during 1973 was the 406 which was affected by the drafting in of RMCs, to Reigate and Leatherhead consequent upon the introduction of the final ANs of the 1972 batch at Grays. This occurred on 24th February 1973, but RTs did not leave the 406 completely, the Leatherhead allocation in particular continuing to feature these vehicles for three more years. Reigate RT 4496 (RG) is seen at Tadworth station on Monday 25th June 1973. F-4.
