The one bit of Tate Modern that's quiet.

Outside the Rothko Chapel in Houston, one of my favorite places in the world. Well, at least the part of the world I've seen so far.

Inside are paintings by the artist Mark Rothko - very large canvasses painted in dark colours. Pretty depressing I thought.

Exploring Mark Rothko, this is one of a series of small acrylic paintings (10" x 10") that don't capture the vast sweep and depth of his work, but seem to have a jewel like quality of their own.
