An oddly humorous art piece found on the Skagway Docks.

Alternative take on this week's Crazy Tuesday challenge: Knots.

Happy Crazy Tuesday!

This was just upstream of the kelp.

This boat, and the man pulling the rope attached to it, carried us across the river.

Those who know me by now are looking to the layers in this picture. They expect to be surprised by what I see, because what I see is what you get. The only question to be answered is what did I see this time?

Oh, no, there are no tricks as Ai or Photoshop. Just a longer shutter time and a such a framing, one gets this abstract image taken during a rope skipping training.

Instead of moving the flash further away, I took this by cranking down the EV level. SB900 camera right at level of rope, bare--fired by pop-up flash.

I finished off the hidden waterfall with the light bley snake motif for now, with a view to redo the interior later in either yellow or sand green. The rock wall opens manually on either side and the explorer can decent on a wind up rope, partially hidden behind the spiderweb but still accessible. I tried mounted the rope to the tree stump but I couldn't get the rope to wind up properly.

I'm not totally satisfied with the trees; I pictured something more stylised or cartoony but I think I need to practice that more.

Still life is not only for studio, you can find in every place that you visited, like this ropes.

Taken with a Pentacon Electric 50mm f1.8, I've had this lens for some time, but kept on ignoring it for my Helios 44-2. I was pleasantly surprised with how sharp this lens is and will definitely be using it more.

This is from a series where i've been wanting to explore minimalism and black & white photography more. I choose some abandoned boats covered in chains and old rope as a good subject.

Hope you like 👍

Team roping, the only true team event in ProRodeo, requires close cooperation and timing between two highly skilled ropers – a header and a heeler – and their horses. The event originated on ranches when cowboys needed to treat or brand large steers and the task proved too difficult for one man. Russian River Rodeo, Duncans Mills, CA. June 24, 2018
