The greatest gift you
ever gave him was YOU
ALL OF YOU
You didn't come wrapped
in ribbons and bows
But your trust binds your
soul to his even as he binds
your body with rope
His beautiful treasure
His Gift

Small plant struggling on the dry sandy slope of a sand dune at Brighton North. The rope mesh is to prevent erosion of the sand dunes and it is sorely needed here.
Our neighbour's hammock chair taken in our back yard. We are still in lockdown wearing masks everywhere but still hoping delta doesn't break out down here in the South Island of NZ. Meanwhile we just relax.
This is the new rope that I put on my pond fountain and is what holds the fountain in the middle of the pond.... a rope out to each side. On this morning I got fascinated by the straightness of the rope itself but the reflection conformed itself to the ripples in the water caused by the fountain. And so the reflection changed continually with the ripples. Cool stuff!
Taken near Aldergrove, British Columbia, Canada.

Barn Swallow
Taken tonight 24th july, bad light and a chance of a thunder storm hampered tonights shoot, had to make do with my old favourite CH45, put a slight vignette on to lead you into the image.
Rope strung as x-shaped balustrades between upper and lower railings on an outside deck. Spiders like to use their own "ropes" as travel lanes between them, seen backlit here in the morning sun.
Theme: "Creative with rope"

A steep climb up Duane Spur from Big River brings you to this welcoming hut. The toilet, not so welcoming!

Treatment: none other than a small crop and a monochrome conversion
It takes a big-ass rope to hold an aircraft carrier in place. In fact, it takes a few.
Shot this on the 40th anniversary of the moon landing. I was hoping to buy Buzz Aldrin's book and get him to sign it for me. By the time I got on board, the books were all sold out. Poop.
USS Hornet, Alameda, California. Not just any old aircraft carrier:
