One of the smaller streets in Rome, taken on my 2017 trip on a specialty film from Kono.
Nikon F4. Kono Katz 200 35mm C41 film.
Stockholm, 2017
For those that know me, I'm a bit introverted such that I tend to shy away from street photography. Where this type of photography is concerned, I'm not one to focus on the downtrodden or marginalized sections of the population, but I will occasionally snap a candid shot here and there. In juxtaposition to the limited amount of visible minorities in and around Stockholm, this Roma woman struck me as very strong and determined in her drive to collect recyclables. She walked with purpose, likely headed to the nearest collection point to cash-in her lot. Looking to provide for her family in this obvious foreign land.
Taken in Saintes Maries Del La Mer, France.
My understanding is that the Roma have an annual gathering in this town. This was taken during the time they were there. Just looking at the picture, I would wonder why they were all in the glaring sun. Since I was there, I know it wasn't as warm as it looks.
