Phantoms of the fields and glades, They graze alert on primed feet. My favourite deer these. Not loaded before.
Another fantastic day out yesterday photographing roe deer. I saw this female deer eating from bushes when she decided I was no threat and laid down right in front of me. Had been watching her for more than half an hour before I needed to leave. Photographed at 300mm, Hampshire, UK.
A brief but close encounter with this fine looking buck last weekend. After checking me out he walked quitely off into the undergrowth but not before I grabbed a few shots.
Another surprise on our walk at Brimham Rocks was when we came across these two deer. Fingers crossed I have identified them correctly as Roe Deer.
This lovely doe Roe deer allowed me to close get nice and close this afternoon, it's always nice when wildlife treats you to such moments.

All the deer look a bit manky this time of year, still half dressed in their winter coats. I was trying to shoot some reds further up the slop when this roe popped out from behind a tree.
A week after I photographed a fine looking Roe buck I meet the same group of 5 deer in the meadows the following weekend. This time as you can see I was able to photograph one of the lovely Does.
