About the photograph.

This is Ro.

She is a performer taking part on stage during the outdoor live music festival.

Ro is a deaf person, but is able to hear by means of cochlear implant, and had taken drama lessons during her childhood. She is capable of performing a song in British Sign Language (BSL).

As the GlastonBeoley Music Festival is one of the few UK festivals that provides BSL interpreters for deaf people during some of the key performances, Ro was taking part in the event for the deaf audience.

The photos were shot in colour with a 50mm lens while close up to the stage. While they were in Adobe Lightroom, they were converted into black and white, then cropped in Adobe Photoshop.

Ro has to be one of my favorite builds so far. I absolutely love the color usage and the contrast with the bits of orange on the torso. I was going for anatomical accuracy for the most part, with a few liberties taken.
