Castle Rising Castle is situated in the village of the same name in Norfolk, UK. It was built in about 1138 by William d Albini, 1st Earl of Arundel, who also owned Arundal Castle. Much of its square keep, surrounded by a defensive mound, is intact, and it is now in the care of English heritage. The castle is in remarkably good condition despite being over 850 years old. One of the most striking features is the earthwork surrounding the moat. The built up soil is now covered in grass for aesthetic reasons. There is a gravel path at the top of the built-up area, which enables the visitor to walk right round the building, getting not only a good view of the castle, but also of the village itself

I love Ruapehu. Adore it.

I wanted to get a close up shot of the moon. This was shot with the 135mm lense at the highest possible resolution on my camara. This reminds me a famous photo of the Earth taken from Apollo 8 space shuttle.

The commemoration ceremony to mark the 99th anniversary of the 1916 Rising took place at the GPO on O'Connell Street on Easter Sunday, April 5th.

CBMM’s Rising Tide boatshop program is a pilot initiative in collaboration with the YMCA of the Chesapeake. In November, 2015, the program began with one of two, six-week after-school boatbuilding sessions offered to Talbot County 6th grade students.

The pilot sessions have limited participation, with the YMCA of the Chesapeake organizing registration and transportation from its Easton location.

Funded through philanthropic support, the program is designed to teach students basic boatbuilding skills in a welcoming, relaxed environment. The goal of the program is to empower students to develop a sense of self-confidence and pride, and facilitate mentorships with shipwright educators that will provide guidance and support during this crucial year in their development.

The sessions include learning basic woodworking skills and safety procedures, with several take-home projects for participants.

Rising that is what is happening to me. And ride. Don't know what I think of this ride.

See that cool old two story house? I do not live there. I just get to take in its beauty every day.

NoLA Rising is a non-profit art initiative that promotes accessibility to art regardless of socio-economic status and aims to broaden perspective and opinion on public art. NoLA Rising began as a loose assembly of New Orleans artists and art enthusiasts intent on using the visual arts to revitalize a city devastated by one of the worst disasters in U.S. history.

Through the medium of community creative arts projects, NoLA Rising intends to reclaim and solidify New Orleans’ standing as the cultural capital of the South. It will also further the broader goal of encouraging a cultural renaissance by engaging the community to work together to enhance the city’s aesthetic quality through public artwork. NoLA Rising believes that participation in the visual arts not only helps to beautify our vibrant community and celebrate our cultural heritage, but also empowers the individual by facilitating creativity and aiding in the discovery of personal potential.

11 Days to wander the northern part of Norway on my own with only my camera and a rental car to keep my company. It was a magnificent road trip that took me to the tip of Lofoten, into the winding fjords of Senja, and through the surrounding fjords. The weather was challenging most days, but also delivered incredible natural light.

Students in the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum's Rising Tide Program were recently able to ride skateboards they built during a series of after-school workshops.
