In 1954 American author Patricia Highsmith saw the bay of Sanremo, thinking about "The Talented Mr Ripley".

Ripley Castle, seat of the Ingleby family in North Yorkshire, UK: a place for summertime reflections
My usual perch above Ripley creek on a fallen tree. Another tree has come down right next to it and it's shifted slightly so the view is a little different. The tree in the distance has collapsed even more and the creek bed has widened quite a bit.

Built in 1849 by Judge John A. Ripley, this stage coach stop and tavern served travelers and farmers in Des Moines County Iowa. Local Indians also visited here. Each room was heated by an iron stove, instead of the traditional fireplaces of the time. It later became an antique store and currently sits abandoned.

Part of our New England trip, we hiked out to these falls. I didn't bring my tripod so to get the long exposure I had to set my camera on the rocks. This is one of my 1st waterfall shots. I find that I really like them and can't wait for it to warm up so I can take more.
