Die STADT BONN hat tatsächlich diese alten Tiere alle GETÖTET!
Mit der Begründung es seien wieder 80 Stück!
CHEEKY und GEMMA hat es zuerst erwischt.
NERA hat sich am 10. Juni 2026 versteckt.
Es muss eine regelrechte Treibjagd gewesen sein, denn eine Handvoll Nutrias in der Rheinaue zu finden ist nicht einfach!
Es wurden zwar wieder die LEBENDFALLEN aufgestellt, alle mit einem teuren Tracker versehen, aber sie waren verschlossen, blitzsauber, standen in einem Bereich von nicht mal 20 Metern und dann noch direkt am bebrüteten Schwanennest!

It seems that something has died under our floorboards in the loungeroom - the general consensus in the house is that it is something small with four legs and a tail that used to go 'eek' while foraging for cheese. The smell has become moderately overwhelming, although the flatmate reckons it should disappate in about a week. Think I'll probably spend a fair amount of time out of the house this week... Unfortunately it looks like we can't actually get at the space under the floorboards without ripping up the floor which I think our landlady won't really like...
Update (8 Feb): Yay! Finally convinced the flatmate that something needs to be done about this (now that I've packed my bags and evacuated). Hopefully we'll be able to get a handyman in tomorrow morning to pull up floorboards and remove our terminal resident. The sooner, the better, I say...
You wouldn't believe the difficulty I had to find someone who would do this - apparently pest control people need special licences to pull up floorboards and they don't keep tame builders about the place to do this - so effectively they only put preventative measures in place, they don't help you when the problem becomes *really* impossible to live with. But it looks like handymen are the way to go and have 2 of them due to ring me back (after a whole day waiting) plus a plumber who can't come till friday but is willing to do the job, which is what really matters. Quickest one to the front door will win the contest...
Further update (10 Feb): The plumber won :-)
