McHugh Construction crew ripping down the Union Pacific viaduct over Green Street in Bensenville IL, while a coal train is running over the parallel temporary bridge. Viaduct is being replaced as part of O'hare Modernization project. It will be much wider for safety (78' wide I read somewhere)
I randomly checked Twitter two weeks ago to find that Nujabes was a trending topic worldwide. Upon checking it out, it was an explosion of posts in Japanese - not surprising, considering the hip-hop producer born Jun Seba is big in Japan. This spot maks the location of the famous Long Sault Rapids prior to the inundation in 1958 when the Power Dam at Cornwall was constructed. The original rapid, about 30 feet below, was a formidable force. Although these waters appear calm, there are strong currents and undertow.
It's a sad day, Caroline's cute glasses died a horrible death... Let's take a moment to remember them...
