The 291 was one of London's pioneer OMO bus routes, introduced in 1965. It was a short route between Ilford and Barking via South Park Drive. It was converted to DMS Double-deck shortly after I took this picture in March 1973. This is the Barking, Oban Road terminus.
RF's were not common East of London and at Old Ford was one of the routes- the 208 and here you can see the reason for single-deckers with the multiple low bridges. RF467 passes an ornate old lighting pole on its way to Clapton Pond on 27/3/70. MBS buses took over the route in April.

In April 1979, some months after the withdrawal of the last London Transport RF, and shortly after the final RT, London Country's RF 202 was still quietly going about its business out of Northfleet garage! Here it is at the unedifying terminus at New Ash Green on service 489. It survived to be later used on heritage services.

A while back PennLUG ordered some chromed parts from somewhere (Poland?), and as I was browsing the store, this is about the only thing I could convert for a reasonable price.
Chrome is so aggravatingly difficult to photograph. Worse than black, in my opinion, because it never looks quite right.
Aan het begin van de middag kwam het treinverkeer rond Den Bosch weer op gang, nadat er rond 09:30u hier platging door het winterweer...

RFs lasted almost as long as RTs in LT service - being withdrawn at the end of March 1979, one week before the last RTs. These pictures were taken in the final winter. The last two routes were the 218 & 219.
This is the Staines terminus of the 218 - outside the former Staines West station. This was an old house adapted to become the station building.
