One of my oldest slides, taken in 1981 during a spotters' day at Volkel airbase (Netherlands). There were two visiting recce Phantoms from Alconbury. The weather was %^$@! - as usual.

 

This was a 'J79 only' day as the F-104s were not yet replaced by F-16s. Not a single F-16 was seen! ;-)

 

68-0557 was converted to QRF-4C drone and wasted in November 2010.

This Phantom went to the Greek Air Force as 7499, which I saw again in 2016 at Nea Anchialos.
