The downtown Pawhuska area has had a lot of work put into it. However, not every building and place has been restored. This old building was looking a bit tattered but still standing strong. Hopefully, we're able to keep these small downtowns alive into the future. It's a little crazy to think about how few opportunities there are outside of the big metro areas these days.

I still live, I’m just more active on Instagram mainly because Flickr, to put it bluntly, is dead as shit.
I admire the restoration that was done on this farmhouse in Laketown, Utah. A new foundation was poured next to the house which was then moved. A new porch was added and the windmill rebuilt. This is an active farm with sheep, a large garden, and a roadside produce stand. Big Creek is in the foreground.
How did a package restore my faith in humanity?
A happy girl and mom all thanks to (Nicole) flickr.com/photos/murfysflaw/ . An amazing box of clothes was waiting at our door Monday after work. We dusted off the snow and found inside the most beautiful dresses, full of bows and dots. Topping it off was this gorgeous blue coat with fur lining the hood and cuffs and a hand muff with a dog poking out of the top. I squealed with delight yelling to Loren to come and see the awesomeness I was staring at and Larra proceeded to go "pfff pff" her way of saying woof. Instantly, plans started in my head of wearing one dress to her birthday party and another for Christmas.
How did this kind act from a virtual flickr friend restore my faith in humanity? Larra spent 2 months in the NICU and for those of you who have been there you know the hell and happiness that this type of journey brings. Friends and family gifted us beautiful preemie outfits and knitted Larra adorable hats to keep my spirits high. As babies do, Larra eventually outgrew these outfits. After hearing that our neighbors coworker had triplet girls in the NICU just a few months after Larra was discharged I decided that I would give her those clothes. I did this twice because she outgrew more clothes while they were still there. Never a thanks, not a card, not a voicemail not a single word I ever heard from this woman. Eventually I confirmed with one of the nurses that she had in fact, received the clothes and she had. I can't say I am proud that I was bummed that I didn't receive any type of acknowledgement but I have to say I was disappointed.
Tuesday when I was sharing my exciting news of the box that arrived with my co-worker, Randi she said, "this box, it is the universe thanking you You didn't get an immediate acknowledgment but someone just paid it forward to you".
So Nicole, a simple kind gesture rocked my world. Thanks---a million times.
Recently restored, this and a 1300 was owned by a chap in Durham which a Alfa Club member bought them off him. The 1300 was rotted and engine seized so they used it as a parts car to restore the 1200 down to it body shell. This is apparently it first day out after most of the restoration was finished this Wednesday.
The famous “Binns Clock” on the corner of Princes Street and Hope Street in Edinburgh has been restored. The building used to be occupied by the department store Binns which was taken over by House of Fraser in 1953. The clock was installed in 1960 and was an iconic meeting place. The Frasers store closed in 2018 and the building is currently being converted into the Johnnie Walker Experience. The clock restoration work was carried out by the Cumbria Clock Company who also repaired the musical mechanism which plays traditional Scottish tunes every half an hour as the kilted figures march out of the clock. In keeping with tradition, the Highland figures will emerge to the musical accompaniment every seven and 37 minutes past the hour.
After several years in isolation in Poduene depot in Sofia, ex-BDZ 44 083 now runs a second life. The newest private operator bought several electric locomotives from the State company and completely overhauled them in Czech Republic. On the photo 44 083 is acting as a helper machine of a coal train to Bobov dol power plant. In front of the train is a diesel locomotive type LDE2100 (ex CFR 60-0819).
Restored inclined lift at the National Slate Museum, Gilfach Ddu in Padarn Country Park, Llanberis
The museum is housed in the former workshop buildings of Dinorwic Quarry on the banks of the Llyn Padarn opposite Llanberis at the foot of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), the highest mountain in Wales. Here, in the second largest slate quarry in the world, the fissile sedimentary rock was extracted from the end of the 18th century until 1969. Following the decline of the Welsh slate industry, tourism is the main source of income for the locals.

What happens to imagination in a logic world that makes people work until they get sick, long for horrible things that they don´t need and walking around feeling bad about themselves? What happens to the human soul when imagination is forgotten?
This image has been waiting a long time to be edited! I shot it over two years ago. Everything was well planned, from the prop and costume to the location. But I never knew how to edit it. Until today, which I´m very happy for :D The edit isn´t what I thought it would be when I first shot the image, but that´s what´s amazing with Photoshop- that you never know where it will end!

The engineer and conductor of Maine Northern Railway Train 901-31 converse as they pass the restored station at Oakfield, which is home to the Oakfield Railroad Museum, which is the de facto Bangor and Aroostook museum which is open in the summertime.
About 10 cars back a track foreman is keeping a watchful eye as 901-31 crawls over a sun kink on the bridge at the south end of the yard.

The train station in Caledonia ON. It was actually closed that day as the place was being restored. The door was open and the people working inside gave us a tour. It was very cool.
Russia. Moscow. Sunset at VDNH.
The Worker and Collective Farm Worker monument at VDNH is a sculpture of two figures with a hammer and sickle raised above their heads. It has a height of 24.5 meters (78 feet) and was made by Vera Mukhina from stainless steel for the 1937 World's Fair in Paris. After the end of the exhibition in Paris, the sculpture was transported to Moscow and installed on a ten-meter pedestal at the Northern Entrance to the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition (now VDNH). In 2003-2009, the sculpture was restored and installed in a pavilion repeating the original design for the Paris exhibition.
Restored Mining Trains for tourists, with a nice route to visit the Red River, and the beautiful Mining landscapes ...
A few days ago I spent some time working on this image, I choose a selection of textures that I liked together, I generally faffed around until I was happy. Clicked on save and Photoshop crashed :(
Suddenly today Photoshop decided to "restore large format file" and as if by magic it re-appeared!!

The Main Hall at Union Station has been fully restored nearly five years after a magnitude 5.8 earthquake rattled the D.C. region. The cracks in the ceiling’s plaster have been repaired, the vaulted bay has been repainted, and there’s new gold leafing applied to its ornate, gilded panels. The cafe, previously located in the center of the Main Hall, was recently dismantled and allows station visitors to fully appreciate the space as it was historically designed.

The restoration of this car, which sits in a little park across the main street from the city offices, was done as an Eagle Scount project by a young man named Rick Martinez. he completed the project in 1993. Sadly, he only lived from 1978-1998. Quite an accomplishment.

I visited the American Canyon Wetlands Open Space for my 15th 100 x: The 2018 Edition evening walk.
Before the 1850’s, San Francisco Bay had edges with extensive, miles-wide tidal marshes. By the 1950’s, nearly 85% of these marshlands had been diked or filled. Since then efforts have been made to reclaim and restore wetlands as wildlife habitat, natural flood control, for water reclamation & recycling, and providing recreational opportunities. The American Canyon Wetlands Open Space includes the Napa River Bay Trail, which is a segment of the San Francisco Bay Trail, and is a convenient and pleasant place for an evening walk.
