Asteroid Bennu's boulder-covered surface gives it protection against small meteoroid impacts, according to observations of craters by NASA's OSIRIS-REx (Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security-Regolith Explorer) spacecraft.

Bennu is a “rubble-pile” asteroid, meaning that it formed from the debris of a much larger asteroid that was destroyed by an ancient impact. Fragments from the collision coalesced under their own weak gravity to form Bennu.

This image shows asteroid Bennu’s boulder-covered surface. It was taken by the PolyCam camera on NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft on April 11, 2019 from a distance of 2.8 miles (4.5 km). The field of view is 211 ft (64.4 m), and the large boulder in the upper right corner of the image is 50 ft (15.4 m) tall. When the image was taken, the spacecraft was over the southern hemisphere, pointing PolyCam far north and to the west.

"Sandpiper 9 this is Camp 6, come in"

"Sandpiper 9 on station. What's up base?"

"Pack it up, Camp 4 reports Aquashark scouts in their vicinity"

"Negative Camp 6, I just laid into a fresh trench"

"Bruce, fold it up and get back here"

"Chuck, listen man. Is this a real report?"

"What are you sayin?"

"Look, I know he's your kid but-"

"But what."

"I'm just saying.. last week it was a giant squid, the week before that reported Stingrays activity. We got quota to meet and every time we shut down we lose an entire day to reset and refuel"

"Quota doesn't matter when you're dead. Pack it up."

"Missing quota might as well be dead."

"What was that, 9?"

"Nothin. Buckets up, back in 30."

This was built for the WackLUG 2022 BrickCon collab, which was absolutely killer. I've had this conveyor belt in my collection for 15 years, laughing at me because I could never find a good use for it. The collab was the perfect moment to finally get it into something.

The Nomads live in arid and rocky wasteland, where the only valuable resource is dim sunlight. Their solar farms produce electric energy which is then used to charge large battery tanks.

But the planet rotates, slowly but surely, and the Sun will soon be down. Farms are catching less light, thus producing less energy.

The Nomads will soon be out of power; and without power, they are doomed.

View of St Albert's historic, small two-room school, constructed between 1946-1948. Designated a Municipal Historic Resource in April 2009.

NB: Sitting on a hill, most photographs are lower and lead up to the school. To achieve this perspective, attached the camera to a long pole to gain another 10 ft or so.

Amager Resource Center is an incinerator placed in Amager near Copenhagen centrum. The roof of the building is an artificial ski slope, where it will be possible to ski all year round. Amager Resource Center is also known as: ARC, CopenHill and Amager Bakke. The building is designed by the Danish group of architects: Bjarke Ingels Group, often referred to as BIG.

The LEGO model is built in scale 1:200.

I’m a part of a group of LEGO fans from different parts of the world who have been building LEGO models of buildings designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). Some of the buildings (including my model of Amager Resource Center) will be exhibited in LEGO House in Billund from April 20 – May 13, 2018.
