Primbee Pier had fallen into disrepair to the point of it being condemned and partially dismantled. It's a unique pier on Lake Illawarra (which does have a lot of piers) as it takes you a hundred meters or so out into the lake offering some spectacular views.
After an online campaign (petition etc) one of our local members Ryan Park took up the cause - and happily money was found for our lakes piers :-)
Primbee is now back in action and looks to be 95% finished - the warm timber decking has been replaced by cooler blue fibreglass (which should out last the timber by a fair whack I reckon) - and those views are back for everyone to enjoy.

78 fames raw developed in DxO PhotoLab 5, stacked as tiff's in in "Long Exposure Stacker", colour graded in Color Efex Pro 5 and finished off back in PhotoLab.

Taking a break from revisiting my travel photographs. I was recently at a protest in the city, these are the photographs I ended up with.
Hands Off! Protest in Vero Beach, Florida on April 5, 2025. A large crowd of over 2000 showed up to protest Trump and Elon Musk policies and the havoc caused by DOGE. This was one of 1200 locations where people raised their voices across the nation with more than 5 million participating. Resist!

I found this Liophloeus tessulatus weevil on the side of my house and managed a couple of shots of it.
Weevils are often considered a pest in the garden (or commercial agriculture for that matter), but I obviously like them for being cute and interesting subjects.
This one however is sorta kinda beneficial in that they like to eat the plant known as ground elder (Aegopodium podagraria).
If you have ever had this one in your garden, chances are it's still there as it is incredibly good at resisting eradication and pretty much always seem to come back.
So you see, having these guys around waging war on the bad plant could be a good thing.
After taking a couple of shots of it on the side of my house (as can be seen in Pt. 1 here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51580625812/) I moved it to a yellow flower (as seen in Pt. 3) here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51885787595/ before actually moving it a second time, this time to this cornflower (Centaurea cyanus) for some punchy colours in the shot!
I am not sure what the white stuff on its elytra is. It could be pollen from a flower it has visited or some type of fungus.)
I can't resist taking pics of these pretty Chicory flowers. Near McDonald Park, Sumas Prairie, Abbotsford, B.C.
Yes, it's more tulips, but this image was made from a ten image focus stack. This one was cropped from a larger image which I might post later. I guess I just can't resist those tulips. I hope you feel the same.
Well just about to put a bit more time into processing some wedding pictures but couldn't resist another Matterhorn shot ;-) Have been so tired today though. Stood up quickly while at Brockadale and nearly passed out and fell in the river!
In this shot you have the Matterhorn and the Rifflehorn in a near perfect reflection. In fact can you tell if it's the right way up?
We just couldn't resist getting 2 puppies! We are both having so much fun with them and Lilly Dog loves them.

Late August and I wasn't chasing this day... In fact I was preparing to head out to the east coast to catch up with Hurricane Dorian.
Just few blocks from my home here in Kearney Nebraska with no warnings issued this was creaping in from the west northwest. This thunderstorm didn't become severe until it passed over the city of Kearney. But as it approached... the sky was talking and I was listening...
I couldn't resist! With camera in hand I was out to capture a few hundred pics of what was in front of me. A wicked good photographic Nebraska stormscapes and some epic Nebraska Thunderheads!

Es la iglesia gótica de Santa María de Castro-Urdiales. Cuando llueve se forman pequeños charcos en uno de los muelles cercanos, y no me pude resistir a casi meter la cámara en el charco para tomar la foto con el reflejo de la iglesia y del castillo.

It is the Gothic church of Santa María de Castro-Urdiales. When it rains, small puddles form on one of the nearby docks, and I couldn't resist almost putting the camera in the puddle to take the photo with the reflection of the church and the castle.
