In the early 1960s, Maserati's reputation was at a high. With growing sales, Prince Karim Aga Khan ordered a special Maserati 5000 WP, chassis no. 103,060, designed by Pietro Frua. The following year, Maserati showed the first-generation Quattroporte of 1963, which bore a striking resemblance to the earlier drawing. While the design was by Frua, construction was carried out by Vignale.
This, the 1963 'Tipo 107' Quattroporte, joined two other notable grand tourers, the Facel Vega and the Lagonda Rapide, which could comfortably do 200 km/h (124 mph) on the new motorways of Europe. However, the Quattroporte could be said to have been the first car specifically designed for this purpose.

My reputation already sullied beyond repair by posting images of a flamingo, and of ground squirrels, I offer up the present. Given the historic drought we are facing here in California, it may be quite apropos.
London has bit of a reputation of being a place where people don't tend to talk to complete strangers not that I have ever found it like that but then I am a Londoner being born in Camden.
So it was with some surprise due to recent reports of the place being even more unfriendly that I found within a hundred yards of leaving my car a total stranger walking her dog with her partner turned to me and said " I love your dress " Well I was a little taken aback and really chuffed by the comment so relied " Thanks" with a big smile beaming across my face.
That kind of set the pattern for the day, I didn't get a single "oh look a tranny" kind of look one gets at least once while out. In fact I got at least three more nice comments about how I looked and my dress. so it seems the dress worked at diverting from me to it lol.
Actually I did like how I looked and felt great even my brother was a little shocked and kept telling his husband how great I looked :-) I do think he might be a little proud of his little sister
Do you know those purple mushrooms? Meet the amethyst deceiver (Laccaria amethystina), a nitrogen-loving fungus commonly found in Poland. It’s got quite a spooky reputation as a fan of cemeteries, graves, and other resting places. You know… nitrogen. I love how it looks, so I really wanted to get a nice picture of it. And finally, I did! I was thrilled—until I realized what might’ve made it grow in the little grove by the parking lot, where I’d been crawling around to get the shot. So, uh… yeah. Pretty, isn’t it?
Harmonia axyridis has gained the reputation as the most invasive ladybird on earth. It has multiple colour forms. ranging from yellow-orange to black, with the number of spots varying between none and 22. This one has 16 spots!
It is native to eastern Asia, but has been artificially introduced to North America and Europe to control aphids and insects. Unfortunately, it also takes out other species of ladybirds. It is now common and spreading in those regions, and has also established in South Africa and widely across South America. Mild winds have recently brought in a new influx to Europe.
It is commonly known as the Harlequin ladybird because of it's multiple forms. It is known in North America as the Ladybug, and because it invades homes in October in preparation for overwintering, also the Halloween lady beetle.

There are some cars you can picture blazing a trail and leaving a spray of dust and salt in the air at America’s land-speed races on the dry lakebeds of California’s El Mirage and the salt flats of Bonneville Speedway, in Utah. Prewar Ford coupes, sleek Studebakers and roadsters are a given, while those of us in the UK will probably have fond memories of Richard Noble smashing the land speed record, in 1983. But a Citroën SM? That’s not what most of us picture going flat-out; the SM has a reputation for, ahem, pausing on the hard shoulder.
Yet for most of the 1980s, Jerry and Sylvia Hathaway’s Citroën SM was a distinctive staple of the land-speed racing scene. And it was it was made all the more unusual because it was pulled by a customised SM tow car.
The Hathaways were drawn to the SM when the Buick dealership where Jerry worked added Citroën to its showroom in 1972. Jerry eventually purchased an SM and a friend convinced him it would make for a great land-speed car thanks to its slippery body, which was design by Citroën’s Robert Opron.
With a roll cage and racing seat installed in the stripped interior, and after some some hot-rodding of the rebuilt Maserati V6 engine, Jerry headed to the notoriously silty El Mirage dry lake in 1979 to see how the car would slice through the air. He managed to set a class record of 151.249 mph on the lake bed’s short, slippery course.
The racing bug bit Jerry hard and he brought the SM to Bonneville and EL Mirage whenever he could, racking up the miles. When the race car’s tow rig and trailer were stolen, Jerry took the opportunity to construct a custom SM to tow the race car, converting the rear to an open bed to accept a trailer hitch. As if that transformation weren’t enough, Jerry built a custom gooseneck trailer – with matching Citroën suspension, of course.
After achieving records in the Altered class while using the standard 2.7-litre engine displacement, the Citroën got a new, larger engine and a pair of turbochargers to compete in the Blown Classic Gas Coupe class. This new engine put the car in the D engine class, for vehicles competing with a 261–305.99 cubic-inch (3.7 – 5-litres) engine. There it set the D/BCGC record at 200.002mph, just enough to get Jerry into the 200-mph Club. That was in 1985.
In case you didn’t know, running 200 mph isn’t enough to get your place in the “Two Club.” Not only does your two-run average have to exceed 200 mph, but a record has to be set in the process. That means that running 290 mph in a class in which the record is 291 mph isn’t good enough.
In 1987, Sylvia got behind the Citroën’s wheel and ran a two-way average of 202.301 mph, getting into both the Two Club and the record book. (You can learn more about the car in this story from 2018.) The SM didn’t rest on its ’80s laurels, either; in case you were thinking of snapping this car up and campaigning it yourself, you’d be facing a 217.1705-mph record in the D/BCGC class that was set back in 2017.

These photographs were taken on a wet drizzly day in November 2018.
Birmingham is my home town but I’ve not lived there as a resident since I took a train from New St Station in January 1965. Occasionally I drift back to see what’s happened and how it’s changed.
It’s an industrial city and has a reputation for being the workshop of England, and possibly the UK. It was built on the ingenuity of its people and is possibly noted as the home of Bournville, home to the Cadbury family’s chocolate empire. Alas there are no pictures in this set of Bournville as I didn’t manage to get there this time.
I’ve taken pictures in the Jewellery Quarter, one of the areas I used to work in before joining the navy all those years ago. There are some pictures here of the city centre, mainly around New St and the main shopping areas.
I also drove out to Kings Heath and then finished my sojourn with a trip to Swanshurst Park in Hall Green.
The day was wet mostly, though not heavy rain. Just grey and overcast.
My mood at the end was rather sombre. This was because I reflected on the area where I lived and how much it had changed. Sadly, not for the better. The street my grandmother lived in is now mainly industrial units. Her lovely Victorian house has long since gone and was demolished years ago. The replacement houses which weren’t up to very much have now also gone.
Alvin Toffler in his book, “Future Shock”, said that “Constant Change Is Here To Stay”. How true that is.
For those that have read this far I hope you enjoy the pictures.
Japan has a reputation of being hi-tech and modern. Well.....yes and no.
One aspect where their modernity is undisputed however are their skyscrapers and new build trains. Here, an at the time one day old Tobu N100 "Spacia X" eases through the tight curve at Kanegafuchi Station bound for Nikko. In the background is Tokyo Skytree, the tallest freestanding tower on Earth.

Ask around what are the two most iconic symbols of Gothic architecture and art, and the answer will likely be: stained glass windows and rib vaulting.
In both cases, that answer will be wrong: those wonders, on which Gothic cathedrals built their worldwide reputation, are... Romanesque! And they were not just invented and barely tested at the time of Romanesque, they were actually implemented again and again, and perfected along the way over at least one century before Gothic happened. Much more than the definitive breaking point it is often purported to be, the advent of the Gothic was much more a smooth and slow transition, largely calling upon concepts, methods and techniques created and improved during Romanesque times.
As regards stained glass, the oldest still in place is the Ascension Window in the Le Mans Cathedral, which could be as old as Year 1100, possibly 1120–40. The windows in the Augsburg Cathedral in Germany also have a strong claim to the title of oldest Romanesque stained glass window. I hope to be able to photograph all of them some day.
Now, and coming back to our main subject, the rib vaulting (in French: voûte sur croisée d’ogives, or more simply voûte d’ogives), experts agree that, even before the cathedral of Durham in England, it was first experimented in the abbey church of Lessay in Normandy, which stands in the Cotentin peninsula, today the département of Manche. This new, revolutionary vaulting system could be as old as 1090, at least for the apse, choir and transept. Let us remember that this was also the time when other Benedictine monks, in Burgundy, were experimenting the “broken”, or “pointy” Romanesque arch in the Cluny II abbey church, on which construction began in 1088.
The beginning of the nave is also very old, as will be explained below. Its western part may have been built a few decades later, around 1130–40 —but even so, at that time we are still fully within the Romanesque Age, which did not come to an end until 1200 at the earliest —and of course such a clean cutoff date is only symbolic and does not correspond to any actual reality.
The abbey church of Lessay was miraculously saved in the 1950s by Yves-Marie Froidevaux, Chief Architect of Historic Landmarks, after it was severely damaged by the mines detonated by the Nazi army before it retreated after the D-Day landing of June 1944. The restoration Froidevaux carried out, re-using most of the old stones wherever it was possible, today remains an example of a successful and respectful restoration.
Dedicated to the Holy Trinity, this church may look les impressive from the outside than the one in Cerisy, of which I uploaded photos a few days ago. Its apparel is mostly of local shale stones. The cut stones are limestone from Yvetot-Bocage near Valognes, a stone of a lesser quality compared to the famous pierre de Caen, which is also used here, but quite sparsely. Prima facie, this vast church offers more similarities with the humble parochial ones to be found locally in the Cotentin, than with “the great monastic architecture”, as Lucien Musset calls it in the Normandie romane book published by Zodiaque.
As you step inside, however, the architectural and religious message resonates with all its majesty and might. Contrary to Cerisy, this nave retains all of its rows; its perfect proportions are ample, elegant and powerful. They fascinate the first-time visitor.
In the oldest rows of the nave, toward the transept, the ribs fall on “nothing”, for lack of a base or an engaged column to receive them. Such an approximation denotes an incomplete concept, enthusiastically adopted but not yet fully developed.
However remarkable and iconic it may be, owing to the very first use of rib vaulting in human history, the abbey church of Lessay fails to satisfy the lovers of Romanesque sculpture, which is almost absent. This does not come as a surprise in a Norman Romanesque church. Some capitals are sculpted, but they are often the most distant, way up high at triforium level, and the other are only prepared for sculpting, rarely decorated with hooks or gadroons.
The wide aisles are groin-vaulted, which is an excellent support solution for a tall nave. In spite of that, I have noticed some structural deformations: in this photo, you see how the engaged column on the left is slanting outwards.
Today's story and sketch by me 1481, is a strange tale about the Pedestrian in a Bag, The Pucker Pine Bush, and the events leading up to his arrival to our Tropical Volcanic Planet we call Budahunga. The Pedestrian is known as Swaveen, on his home World, which is Thuurmus, a hot dry Planet in Dimension Nine, known for its Pucker Pine Jelly. Which is sweet, yet not to sweet and spicy. It's really delicious on fresh Budahunga Crumpets. Budahunga Crumpets will have to be a story for another time. Because this morning the story is about how Swaveen was able to hide in the pucker pine fruit bag, just before he was spotted by a half dozen Six Foot Marauding Thuurmus Marsupials. These Marsupials have a nasty reputation of thrashing anything that gets between them and a Pucker Pine, with ripe fruit. Luckily Swaveen had just gotten into the bag, before he was overrun by the Marsupials. Because just in those brief moments a Big Time Portal, actually a Big Blue Dimension Dust Devil, sucked up Swaveen, his bag, the Pucker Pine, the half dozen marsupials, and a Pucker Pine Parrot. The portal spit out Swaveen, the Bag, the Pucker Pine, but luckily none of the Marsupials, and no sign of the Parrot. Where they went, in what dimension is unknown, and will probably will forever be a mystery, until next time Tata the Rod Blog.
Now I don’t wish to acquire an uncalled-for reputation, but for those in need, the National Library of Ireland, in Dublin, provides a splendidly ornate gentlemen’s lavatory. As I was alone in the facility, I took the opportunity of pressing the camera shutter; perhaps the women’s toilet is equally ornate… I’ll never know.
Away from the subject of ablutions, the National Library of Ireland was established in 1877, built in 1890, but not completed until 1926. It’s a reference library rather than a lending library, and it houses (among other collections) important archive papers of Seamus Heaney, WB Yeats, James Joyce and Roddy Doyle. All told, the library looks after the largest collection of Irish printed, manuscript, and visual material in the world, spanning almost 1,000 years of art, culture, history and literature. The eight million items include maps, photographs, printed music, prints, manuscripts… and, of course, books. Oh, and did I tell you about the excellent toilet facilities...?
Incidentally, the Library has a very active presence on Flickr. It has uploaded more than 2,000 historical photographs and it’s followed by some 35,000 people, myself included. You can find it here, and it really is worth a browse.

“A spy!?! You want me to trust...to rest my reputation on the word of...a spy?” Sir Caelan Munro’s first reaction to his archer’s suggestion had been a mixture of frustration and disgust. But Tavish had wisely pointed out how little they really knew about the Magic Isles, how perilous an amphibious landing was in a strange land, with magic, and the reality of their situation soon set in.
Their assigned expedition leader, Lord Bajads, knew little of the enemy and also showed no interest in discovering anything about their invasion point, the northernmost beach on the Island of Lost Souls. “We can easily defeat anything these Outlaw scum can bring to the fight!” Bajads declared, even though they only had a total of 59 effective soldiers on the roll. As a minor noble clan, the Munro family owed support for the war, so Caelan led a very small force of 15 well-armed men for the King’s call to arms, but they were assigned to follow Lord Bajads and his retinue, like it or not.
Two days later here were Caelan and Tavish at the Bull’s Head Tavern in Durrough Harbor meeting a “reformed Outlaw” turned spy, who would only use the name, “Mort.”
Tavish had found Mort, how he wouldn’t say. The archer was shrewd and crafty, but he had friends in low places to be sure.
Mort had insisted on a public place. “People with somethin’ to hide meet in secret. We’re just havin’ some ale together.”
“Don’t kid yourself,” Caelan stated coldly, “I wouldn’t be seen with you if we didn’t need this information.”
“And I wouldn’t be seen with ye if I didn’t need the money,” Mort replied gulping his ale. “Speakin’ of which, 30 Draken if you please.”
“I don’t please. Try 10.”
Mort stopped, put down his ale and started to walk. Tavish stopped him. “We need this. How about 15 now, and 15 when we get back if the information is good.”
“Ye mean IF ye get back. I know what yer facin’, remember.”
Caelan reluctantly laid 10 Draken on the table and tapped the map. Mort was about to speak when suddenly three Loreesi burst out of the tavern staggering-drunk. One of them was so far gone he stumbled over the first stool he came to, his helmet clanking across the pier. Caelan frowned, glanced at Tavish, who rolled his eyes. They knew each other so well nothing needed to be said. Once the unruly Loreesi had drifted away, Mort spoke one word.
“Valtyr.”
“And what is Valtyr, some kind of dragon?”
“Not a dragon. A wizard,” Mort said in a sinister tone, “Jens Valtyr. The ice wizard.”
Caelan wasn’t impressed. He frowned, and glanced at a column of Lenfels marching to the dock to load up on small boats waiting to ferrying them out to the ships.
“I have heard of fools who pretend to be wizards who couldn’t conjure up a hairball, let alone something harmful.”
Mort leaned forward, very serious, and stated flatly, “Valtyr can turn a man into a block of ice with his own hands. He can give a dozen men bone-chillin’ shiverin’ with just one spell, so they can’t hold onto their weapons. And then his outlaws move in for the easy kill.”
“And how do you know all this?” Caelan asked accusingly. He then watched as Mort pulled back slowly, disconcerted, and unconsciously rubbed the side of his face.
“I would rather not say,” Mort said, and then Caelan noticed scarring on that side of his face, of a type he had seen before on Garheim soldiers. Frostbite.
Tavish leaned forward and placed 5 more Draken in front of the spy, asking, “How do we defeat him?”
Mort laughed, “That metal armor ye got’s no good to yer, for all the money ye spent on it. Wood. Leather, rubbed with fat. And stay light on yer feet, so’s ye can dance away from the spells.” He swallowed the last of his ale, scooping up the money. “15 more if ye get back. Oh, and if ye get lucky, they say he’s got a fortune in silver in his tower. Not that ye will live to see it.”
As he was about to walk away Tavish asked, “Anything else?”
Before disappearing around the corner Mort snorted, “Dress warm-like.”
Caelan thought a while and turned to his archer. “Believe him?”
Tavish looked grim, “Yes I do. I would not have arranged the meeting if I had any serious doubt.”
More thinking. Finally Sir Caelan told him, “Find me the largest hard-wood shields you can get for our men. Oh, and some leather armor too if it will fit.”
“And some fat,” Tavish added.
“Well I wasn’t going to mention that part…”

There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

The story of the awakening of a Blue Poppy.
The BLUE HIMALAYAN POPPY opens up, like a Siamese fighting fish (also sometimes colloquially known as the Betta)…
It displays its wavy blue robe and a glimpse of inner secrets already.
I have to hurry, because once they start unfolding, there is NO stopping them!
Flowers from my garden...
Meconopsis grandis, known as the blue poppy, is the national flower of Bhutan.
Blue poppies do not produce opium.
In the late spring of 1922, a British Himalayan expedition, led by legendary mountaineer George Leigh Mallory, discovered the plant on their failed attempt to reach the summit of the then-unconquered Mount Everest. The flowers were introduced to much excitement at the Royal Horticultural Society's spring show of 1926. However, since they are difficult to grow, the species has become fabled over the decades.
Himalayan varieties have the reputation for being notoriously difficult to grow from seed, but when germinating new plants, using fresh seeds will help.
It comes as a surprise to many that poppies are available in shades of blue.
Have a lovely day and thanx for your visit, M, (*_*)

Alco locomotives are known for producing smoke and Montreal Locomotive Works built No. 4241 is living up to its reputation as it leads a Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad train into Peninsula, Ohio.
"A good reputation endures for ever; a noble duty bravely done". Indeed so. These are the First World War graves of 38533 Liu Jing-sheng and 94178 Xun Mao-rong, who lie side by side in the Nolette Chinese cemetery at Noyelles sur Mer, not far from Le Touquet, France. Quite unusual, I thought, to see war graves coupled like this.
Liu and Xun were among 140,000 Chinese men who were recruited by the British, and later French, governments to serve as non-military back-ups to their combat forces. They formed what became known as the Chinese Labour Corps (Corps de Travailleurs Chinois).
For more information about this historic but little-known place of rest, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, see here .

Interviews and novels.
About my book.
I published a book in old days.
At that time, I was uploading my interview on the net on the net.
That Japanese and English.
I will make it public for free.
Details were explained to the Amazon site.
How to write a novel.
How to take pictures.
Distance to the work.
They all have a common item.
I made a sentence about what I felt, and left it.
I hope that my text can be read by many people.
Thank you.

Messier 42 on Celestron 5 SE Alt-Az and 5sec Exposures with No Guiding
While my other gear are small APO refractors, I recently got a small Celestron Nexstar 5 SE Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope with the included lightweight ALT-AZ mount. I can literally carry the telescope/mount assembly with one hand if needed. I take it and my small Jackery Power Station and a lunchbox-size case with a few eyepieces and small, uncooled cameras ... and I'm ready to drive off to some quiet site.
I replaced the included small finder scope with a $50 cheap finder with a non-illuminated crosshair, aligned it to the telescope tube, and controlled the whole thing with an ASIAIR Mini ($180 new) from my iPhone. I also got a Celestron .63 reducer ($179) and set it up to the required 105mm backfocus distance to the ZWO ASI183MC non-cooled ($200 when I bought it) camera. I saw that the small Celestron SCTs with the ALT-AZ mounts were getting a bad reputation for any astrophotography attempts, and I was curious as to what could be done to encourage others with this scope.
So I set up the scope and ALT-AZ tripod mount with no polar alignment, little regard to North, did a basic level, did a two star alignment, slewed to M42 and started a series of 5 second exposures with no guiding and not even touching the mount to keep the object centered. I knew that field rotation could be a problem. That's why I kept the exposures short. The whole setup and startup took about 15 minutes. I was very surprised with the results. It's not quite the same quality as my APO refractor on EQ mount images, but I had fun, took the challenge, and found a small rig and unorthodox exposure plan method that gave me a satisfying night under the stars and a fun little image. I could have filled out the whole Messier 42 object just by adding a bunch more 5 second exposures. This little piece of gear kept the object centered in the field of view the whole time, It took me about 3 minutes to pack it up and start back home. A total fun rig that I could literally carry in two hands without being a weight lifter. And I spent time under the stars instead of under pressure to get things setup. Lots of fun! It was so easy, it will probably now double my nights under the stars.

This a 1932 Ford Tutor (not Teacher) Hot Rod parked my itself waiting on someone like me to admire. The bright red wheels and pinstriping against the matte black finish really made this one a real looker. This fine machine made an appearance at the 35th Ol’ Marais River Run Car Show held at Forrest park in Ottawa Kansas
Having revolutionized the automobile industry with the Model T, Henry Ford began to acquire a reputation for stubbornness—and one that was not entirely undeserved, as production of the basic “Tin Lizzy” stretched towards two decades. Looked at a different way, Ford simply preferred to refine a formula that worked, rather than reinventing it for the sake of novelty. The Model A of 1928 proved that Ford could still change gears when needed, however, and it was followed in comparatively short order by a new car that again could be called revolutionary: The 1932 Ford V-8.
The Ford V-8 was notable not just for its powertrain, though its legendary Flathead engine, initially producing 65 horsepower, at last brought eight-cylinder power to the people. Also crucial was the styling. In part due to the insistence of Edsel Ford, the Model A incorporated stylish touches all but absent on the utilitarian Model T; as the automobile market matured, it was clear that aesthetics, in addition to practicality, were beginning to drive new-car purchases. This notion was fully realized on the 1932 models, which were styled as a unified, harmonious whole. These were affordable, powerful cars that were also truly beautiful, right off the assembly line.
Much of the “Deuce” mythos is built on modified coupes and roadsters, which were readily used by blank canvases by hot-rodders and customizers in the post-WWII years, often to incredible effect. This 1932 V-8 Tudor Sedan serves as a reminder that these are immensely appealing cars, even in stock configuration.

From 'Street Life in London', 1877, by John Thomson and Adolphe Smith
The class of Nomades with which I propose to deal makes some show of industry. These people attend fairs, markets, and hawk cheap ornaments or useful wares from door to door. At certain seasons this class 'works' regular wards, or sections of the city and suburbs. At other seasons its members migrate to the provinces, to engage in harvesting, hop-picking, or to attend fairs, where they figure as owners of 'Puff and Darts','Spin 'em rounds', and other games….
The accompanying photograph, taken on a piece of vacant land at Battersea, represents a friendly group gathered around the caravan of William Hampton, a man who enjoys the reputation among his fellows, of being 'a fair-spoken, honest gentleman'. Nor has subsequent intercourse with the gentleman in question led me to suppose that his character has been unduly overrated….
He honestly owned his restless love of a roving life, and his inability to settle in any fixed spot. He also held that the progress of education was one of the most dangerous symptoms of the times, and spoke in a tone of deep regret of the manner in which decent children were forced now-a-days to go to school. 'Edication, sir! Why what do I want with edication? Edication to them what has it makes them wusser. They knows tricks what don't b'long to the nat'ral gent. That's my 'pinion. They knows a sight too much, they do! No offence, sir. There's good gents and kind 'arted scholards, no doubt. But when a man is bad, and God knows most of us aint wery good, it makes him wuss. Any chaps of my acquaintance what knows how to write and count proper aint much to be trusted at a bargain.'
…The dealer in hawkers' wares in Kent Street, tells me that when in the country the wanderers 'live wonderful hard, almost starve, unless food comes cheap. Their women carrying about baskets of cheap and tempting things, get along of the servants at gentry's houses, and come in for wonderful scraps. But most of them, when they get flush of money, have a regular go, and drink for weeks; then after that they are all for saving…They have suffered severely lately from colds, small pox, and other diseases, but in spite of bad times, they still continue buying cheap, selling dear, and gambling fiercely.'
…Declining an invitation to 'come and see them at dominoes in a public over the way', I hastened to note down as fast as possible the information received word for word in the original language in which it was delivered, believing that this unvarnished story would at least be more characteristic and true to life.

Rule 12
There are more fake gurus and false teachers in this world than the number of stars in the visible universe. Don’t confuse power-driven, self-centered people with true mentors.
A genuine spiritual master will not direct your attention to himself or herself and will not expect absolute obedience or utter admiration from you, but instead will help you to appreciate and admire your inner self.
True mentors are as transparent as glass. They let the light [of God] pass through them.

A small team of dedicated scientific minds working together to make the world a brighter place, and make up for the company's past mistakes. But, something was wrong. For the past week, not one of it's employees have left. Not to get lunch. Not to go home. Rain pattered down onto it's metal roof, but... all around it the sun shone, not a cloud in the sky. Rain slid across its darkened windows, and carried down towards Thawne, and Simon. Taking a gloved finger towards the growing puddles, Thawne examines the water
Thawne- It's him alright.
*Simon nods, he clutches his gun and cautiously pulls on the door. Locked. Obviously. Why wouldn't it be? "It's ok!" he shouts out, prying open the security box, and tinkering with the electronics. In between rearranging wires, and the odd curse, Simon explains himself to Thawne*
Simon- I picked up a few things working with the Great White. There was this guy on his crew, Mr Jailor I think, taught me this kind of- And we're in.
*The doors whir open, revealing a dark hallway and the faint rumblings of conversation. Oddly... normal conversation*

Simon- Could he-?
Thawne- What?
*Simon closed his mouth. But, he was now fully expecting Chronos to set a T-Rex on them.*
--------
*They were in the cortex. In front of them, a group of four scientists moved around the laboratory, drinking coffee and playing football with a scrunched up piece of paper, oblivious to the two confused guests. "Hello?" calls out Simon, but he gets no response. He takes a step backwards, straight into an oncoming scientist*
Simon- Oh god, I'm sorry sir.
*The man looks right through Simon, straightens his glasses and, once he's back on his feet he suddenly calls out "Can you pass me my mug, eh love?"*
Simon- P-pardon?
*Another scientist, a young woman, walks right past Thawne, a mug of STAR labs coffee in hand*
Tina- Urgh, I can't believe you drink this trash Eric. I could just pop down to Jitters, and-
Simon- Thawne?
Eric- - frappé? No thank you. Watching my weight
Thawne- They're time looped. We can't help them.
Tom- -That's a lot of weight to watch E!
Simon- But-
Thawne- He's in the Particular Accelerator. Let's *go*
Actually, I'm right here.
*A tingling sensation gripped Simon's body, it was cold, freezing almost. From the groans to the right he knew Thawne was equally uncomfortable. But beyond that, something else- He couldn't move. He wanted to, but he'd lost control of his body. Then he realised. He couldn't feel his heartbeat.*
Thawne- -Ccccchhhroooooooonnnnos
Chronos- Oh do relax Eobard. I have no intention of hurting you. Do you like my office?
*This* was Chronos? The man who killed his mother, his uncle, his *true* family? He wore a white mask, like a clock face, complete with a single hand on his forehead. He looked quite frankly, ridiculous and yet, his eyes were as cold as the chill throughout Simon's body. Like the scientists before him, his gaze went right through Simon.
Chronos- I'll see to you later.
*If he could spit, Simon would have. He didn't realise he had that kind of hate inside him, not for a man he only just met. Smirking, Chronos picked up a jam jar and thrust it in Thawne's face. Inside it, a little man shrieked unheard pleas*
Thawne- Paaaaaaalllmerrrr
*Chronos groaned and with a flick of his wrist Thawne could speak clearly again*
Thawne- *urh* Palmer.
Chronos- Oh yes. Our dear old disaster stopping pal Ray Palmer. I have him tinkering on a little formula for me. And, if he disobeys me, I can just do this-
*He shakes the jar. Palmer goes flying then falls to the bottom of the jar with a muffled crack*
Chronos- I wouldn't worry about him. He dies? I can get a new one. It would take seconds. Let me give you the tour. There's quite a few familiar faces here actually- Silas, Thomas, Anthony, Thadeus. Scientists. Experts. I was hoping you'd join us. You have the brains, I'll settle for being the brawn... We can work together. I need us to work together. My clairvoyance only reaches so far. And we're running out of time
*Chronos rolls down a whiteboard. On it, a mass of scribbled symbols and formulas*
Thawne- What is this?
Chronos- Time. Simply put. I'm mapping out all outcomes as we speak.
Thawne- For what? Until what?
*Chronos runs his finger across the whiteboard, then bows his head- "Doomsday"*
Chronos- It's inevitable. You can change time all you want, believe me, and yet that final outcome is always the same. Metahuman wars, crazed vigilantes, it's a slippery slope until Nuclear Armageddon. There will be no climatic battle here today. There will be no bad guys to punch. There is only one path. Mine, or, failing that- death.
Thawne- Doomsday.
Chronos- Doomsday.
Simon- That's a load of crap!
Chronos- Oh, I thought you were still frozen. My mistake.
Simon- You're not some guardian of time, you're a monster, a mercenary who killed my family to save Bridgets'! And you know it!
*He was looking at a shadowed figure. Bridget was hiding. Crying silently*
Chronos- Oh Simon. Simon Simon Simon. That, is *exactly* what I am.
Simon- You're lying.
*He had to be. He was the villain. Simon, the hero. Simon didn't kill *his* mom or uncle, did he?*
Chronos- This isn't the first time you know. I've altered the past before. Do you recall the circumstances of your resurrection Simon? Did you know that the mastermind was originally the Polka Dot Man? Did you know that Thawne was once fated to die by the Redeemables hand and not your step mother's? Did you realise that there was a time where Lord Death Man spent his days filming a documentary with an Elephant man, because I do. But, I'm not the villain. I'm more of an equaliser. When reality is scrambled, it is *I* who snaps it back into place. As much as you may deny it Simon, this is your time
*He was lying. He had to be*
They stayed out all night, and they liked their meat rare. They didn't go to church. Wilber could not believe his luck. It must be that Aramis bath water, he thought.
"We're not the kind of girls you'd take home to meet your mother," Tabitha cooed in Wilber's ear.
"But if you do, we won't mind," Tamakia assured him.

The legendary reputation of the Leica brand is based on a long tradition of excellent quality, German craftsmanship and German industrial design, combined with innovative technologies.
In 1986, the Leitz company changed its name to Leica (LEItz CAmera), due to the fame of the Leica tradename. At this time, Leica relocated its factory from Wetzlar (Germany) to the nearby town of Solms (Germany). In 1996, Leica Camera separated from the Leica Group and became a publicly owned company.
Andreas Kaufmann (ACM Projektentwicklung GmbH) initially took over 27.2 percent of the shares in Leica Camera AG from Solms He became chairman of the company's supervisory board. In 2006 he finally became the majority owner with 96.5 percent of the shares. Kaufmann invested in Leica and carried out a restructuring. He has been chairman of the supervisory board of Leica. Under his patronage, the company was able to make a profit again, bring innovations to the market and, in 2014, move into a new headquarters in Wetzlar with Leica World.
