MARRAKESH

The Bahia Palace, set in extensive gardens, was built in the late 19th century by the Grand Vizier of Marrakesh, Si Ahmed ben Musa (Bou-Ahmed). Bou Ahmed resided here with his four wives, 24 concubines and many children. With a name meaning "brilliance", it was intended to be the greatest palace of its time, designed to capture the essence of Islamic and Moroccan architectural styles. Bou-Ahmed paid special attention to the privacy of the palace in its construction and employed architectural features such as multiple doors which prevented passers-by from seeing into the interior. The palace took seven years to build, with hundreds of craftsmen from Fes working on its wood, carved stucco and zellij. The palace is set in a two-acre (8,000 m²) garden with rooms opening onto courtyards. The palace acquired a reputation as one of the finest in Morocco and was the envy of other wealthy citizens. Upon the death of Bou-Ahmed in 1900, the palace was raided by Sultan Abd al-Aziz.

Reputation precedes me, they told you I'm crazy.

Inspired by the album art of 'reputation' by Taylor Swift.

Rudesheim is situated in the the Rheingau and Rüdesheim Rhine River Gorge winery area.

There are dozens of wine tasting and buying venues in Rudesheim. This is one restaurant, tasting room and wine store in Rudesheim.

The room is the cellar of the hotel Felsenkeller.

There are a total of 380 winemakers in the region marketing their own products. Most are family run companies tending vineyards of between four and eight hectares. There are also three local cooperatives and around two dozen large wine estates (between approx. 10 and 50 hectares). These export a considerable proportion of their production and thus contribute to the fame and reputation of Rheingau Riesling.

Its haunted reputation stems from two main stories. One recounts a fatal night in January, 1815. A party of soldiers visited their friend, the first lighthouse keeper John Paul Radelmüller. When the lighthouse keeper saw his guests were becoming too drunk, he refused to produce more liquor. The enraged soldiers beat Radelmüller to death and escape along Blockhouse Bay. His body was allegedly cut into pieces and buried around the islands.

The other story says that Radelmüller simply vanished in 1815. In 1893, the lighthouse keeper at the time allegedly found parts of a human skeleton buried close to the lighthouse. Many believed it to be Radelmüller’s unfound remains, but this story remains controversial.

Australian spiders have a fearsome reputation but this one appears to be a St Andrews Cross Spider, which are harmless to humans.

I'm not sure though - maybe one of my Australian friends might be able to help with ID?

By the late 1920s, Italy's Isotta Fraschini had earned a reputation for both performance and luxury among discerning (and well-heeled) American buyers. In 1928, chassis 1353, an Isotta Fraschini 8A built in highest-performance Super Spinto trim, was sent to American coachbuilder LeBaron to receive a boattail cabriolet body, said to be the first constructed by the New York firm. On Sunday, this stunning Italian-American classic with ties to an aviation entrepreneur and a silent film star captured Best-of-Show honors at the Pacific Northwest Concours d'Elegance, held on the grounds of the LeMay - America's Car Museum.

Now owned by Peter Boyle of Oil City, Pennsylvania, the Isotta Fraschini 8A SS was first displayed at the 1928 New York Auto Show, where it caught the attention of aviation pioneer Harry Williams and his wife, actress Helen Marguerite Clark (whose looks inspired Walt Disney's original Snow White). Williams, who co-founded the Wedell-Williams Aviation Company (which produced racing airplanes and brought airmail and passenger services to the Southeast) was so smitten that he purchased the car at the show, despite a price tag said to be in the $20,000 range. (even more expensive than a Duesenberg at the time!)

The businessman was reportedly a daredevil on the ground as well as in the air, and there's little doubt that he tested the 8A SS's guaranteed top speed of 100 MPH, courtesy of its 160-horsepower inline eight-cylinder engine. One popular tale had Williams receiving a $10 fine for speeding through a small Louisiana town; at his court appearance, the millionaire businessman reportedly peeled a $20 bill from his roll, placed it on the table and said, "Here's $20, now don't bother me on the way back."

Fortune, however, does not always favor the bold, and Williams was killed in a 1936 plane crash that also claimed the life of a company test pilot. By the time of his death, his partners in the Wedell-Williams Aviation Company had also perished in aviation accidents, and sole control of the company fell to Helen Marguerite Clark. With little interest in running her husband's company, Clark promptly sold the business to Eastern Air Lines, owned by World War I ace Eddie Rickenbacker. What happened to the 1928 Isotta Frashcini 8A SS is less clear, but by the 1960s the car was in the possession of Florida collector Jim Thomas.

Boyle acquired the car in 2005, with less than 23,000 miles on the odometer. A full restoration came next, and after six-plus decades out of the public eye, the Isotta Fraschini made its reappearance at the 2007 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. It captured a second-place award in its category there, but then went on to take top honors at the 2007 Dayton Concours d'Elegance and the 2007 Hilton Head Concours d'Elegance. t was a good day for Boyle, who also took home a category win with his 1938 Steyr 220 Roadster, which captured the Most Elegant Award (Open) at Sunday's show.

Near Mopani, there was a Bird Hide - I forgot its name, but will update as soon as I find my map :)

We saw this absolutely mad rush of a vast herd of Buffalo leaving dust clouds behind as they stormed the water's edge for a drink.

First it was a few, then a few more, and then more and more until they lined up, forcing crocodiles back into the water, Hippos disgruntledly grunting their complaints about the disturbance and birds to soar around in joy as they stirred up a whole bunch of previously hidden insects.

For close to an hour, this waterhole provided a lot of entertainment. Buffalo are one of the Big 5, and some people find them either ugly or boring.

Personally, I find them interesting - despite them being a black mass, each one has an individual face, personality, and behavioural patterns around this situation. Some were more skittish than others, some had practically beady eyes, others had more of a curious glint in theirs... No, despite their masses, their grumpy reputation, I do enjoy watching them (safely, from a bird-hide... or the enclosure of a car :) I don't think they'd appreciate a cuddle or a boop ;) )

Moraine Lake is one of the 10 most beautiful lakes in the world, and its reputation is well deserved. Raised at 4 o'clock in the morning to get a parking place near the lake, I patiently wait for the sunrise. The turquoise color of Moraine Lake is due to the suspension in the water of fine mineral particles produced by glacial erosion. The sun illuminates the snowy mountains. The show is magical.

Moraine Lake is named after the moraines deposited by the Wenkchemna glacier. Moraines are debris (rocks, pebbles, pebbles, sand) deposited during the melting of glaciers.

The lake, filled with ice, reaches its maximum level only in the second half of June. When it's full, it reflects a distinct hue of blue. This color comes from the refraction of light on rock dust suspended in water.

A representation of Moraine Lake was on the back of the 1969 Canadian and Canadian dollar bills of 1969 and 1979.

Shrewsbury School was founded by Edward VI in 1552 following the dissolution of two ecclesiastical colleges in the town. In its original incarnation the school was sited not outside the loop of the River Severn as it is today, but within its boundary, where it occupied a number of black and white houses.

In marked contrast to this prosperity Shrewsbury’s fortunes were reversed during the civil war period and eighteenth century, with a decrease in pupil numbers. It was not until 1798 and the accession of headmaster Samuel Butler that Shrewsbury’s fortunes were revived. Butler, a renowned classical scholar, founded the classical reputation of the school; although this did not suit a certain pupil named Charles Darwin,

Development of the school site continued throughout the twentieth-century with a boathouse, new library and series of boarding houses amongst the many additions.

The Zollverein Coal Mine Complex in Essen (More images in my series Zollverein) is one of the most impressive surviving examples of industrial culture from the modern era.

With their design of the central shaft facilities for Shaft XII, built between 1928 and 1932, Fritz Schupp and Martin Kremmer created the single most important part of the complex, both technically and architecturally. The industrial monument has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001.

The site of the Zollverein coal mine and coking plant stands symbolises industrial history and structural transformation in the economy. Here, Schupp and Kremmer created a high-performance industrial complex with clear aesthetics and a high degree of functionality. Symmetry, axiality and gradation of scale – the organising principles of the modernist formal idiom – came into their own here in a new context.

The curtain wall façades, designed in the style of New Objectivity (Neue Sachlichkeit) and made of a steel framework inset with clinker bricks, earned the colliery the reputation of being “the most beautiful coal mine in the world”, even back in its working days. Clearly visible from afar, the 55-metre-high double winding tower rises above the other buildings as an icon of mining architecture and a symbol for the entire Ruhr region. Years later, Fritz Schupp built the Zollverein Coking Plant, which went into operation in 1961, in the same style as the coal mine complex. In its day, the mine was regarded as the largest and most efficient one in the world. An era came to an end when the coal mine ceased operations in 1986 and the coking plant in 1993. A total of 600,000 people were employed here and coal was last extracted from a depth of 1,000 metres.

In the context of the International Building Exhibition (IBA) Emscher Park, the facility, which is protected as a historical monument, was promoted as a model project; the first phase of refurbishment began in 1989. Today, the Zollverein complex is the central anchor point of the Route of Industrial Heritage – a 400-kilometre-long trail along the industrial and cultural heritage of the Ruhr region. Based on a master plan by Rem Koolhaas and his firm OMA in collaboration with the architectural firm of Heinrich Böll, the site was transformed with conversions and new buildings by Norman Foster and SANAA into a site for culture, business and education. Today, the Zollverein is a popular tourist destination that is home to the Ruhr Museum, the Red Dot Design Museum, the Zollverein Monument Trail, and the new Folkwang University of the Arts with its design department, plus the studios and ateliers of four dozen creative companies.

The unique atmosphere of the old city of Akko (Acre) has justly earned its reputation. Protected from storms by its natural bay, Akko had been the main port-town in the Land of Israel for thousands of years, and there are innumerable rulers and stories which are related to this city. The story of Akko is also the chronicles of the Land of Israel, and there are only few cities with stories as fascinating as Akko’s.

The city's fascinating historical heritage, rare blend of East and West, authentic glimpses from the past, and unique mix of religious beliefs and remnants from different cultures, have all turned Akko into one of the most vital Ancient World cities.

This itinerary takes you to the ancient streets of Akko and to its unique and special atmosphere, introduces for you the magnificence of its Crusader history, the bitter defeat of Napoleon’s blockade, the cruelty of its Ottoman rulers, and brings you to the preserved heritage of its Underground Museum.

Yesterday morning, as the first rays of sunlight graced the horizon, I ventured into Barcelona's Gothic Quarter. It is the city's oldest and, in my opinion, the most atmospheric district. This neighborhood, situated to the east of the La Rambla pedestrian street, offers a maze of small alleyways, hidden plazas, and magnificent historic buildings. While La Rambla may carry a reputation for occasional safety concerns, particularly in the evening and at night, the Gothic Quarter stands as a haven of tranquility amidst the bustling city. Its winding streets are adorned with century-old shops, charming small bars, and cozy cafes, each exuding its own unique character.

Within the Gothic Quarter, there are several highlights to explore. The Plaça Reial, fringed by inviting cafes and restaurants. Plaça Sant Jaume is home to the city hall and the Palau de la Generalitat de Catalunya, which serves as the seat of the Catalan government. And, of course, there is the majestic La Catedral, an architectural marvel that never fails to impress. In summary a picturesque setting to capture some photographs in the morning twilight – Barri Gòtic, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.

Württembergers have some reputation for being dour People. Funnily enough, everybody says hallo ("Grüß Gott") when meeting in the villages. However, a lot of cyclists around here don't share that kind of courtesy around here when passing by. Something I've never experienced in other parts of the country when riding about. Come on people, nobody ever got hurt from being nice. Just say "hi" on your ride :-). Started a #sayhionyourride hashtag so all fellow cyclists can exchange a photographic greeting form now on. Please just share my friends.

Bergen has a reputation for rain, lots of rain, and last year it even broke 4 of its own records regarding the amount of rain. I am frequently in Bergen, about 8-10 times a year and I must say, Bergen weather has been kind to me. Of course, I have seen water come down, bucket loads of it, but somehow the majority of times I am there I see sun and that always inspires me to photograph. This was a very vibrant Sunset in May. And after the sun set I stayed around for some photographs of the lights coming on. Interestingly the 2 photos are very similar. The other one will follow at some time. For several weeks now I will be abroad (4 more times in Bergen) and then I will get back to posting more.

Most spiders get bad reputations from the true dangerous spiders but no spiders are purposefully out to hurt humans. Most bites are in an act of self defense and their venoms true purpose is for preying for food.

Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are. Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least.

The Waterfall on the Dargle river, plunges down 397ft to the wooded valley floor on the Powerscourt estate, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. The river rises from a series of small mountain springs 3 miles west of here in the remote and wild Glensolan Valley. See pic in my photo stream. There is a very interesting story regarding King George 1V who visited here in 1821.

King George stayed here in Powerscourt house as a guest of Viscount Powerscourt, Richard Wingfield.

George had a reputation as a total cad and ran England into so much debt between himself, his mistresses and his iligitimate children. Parliament spend half its budget giving him grants just to maintain his lavish lifestyle.

Wingfield decided to put on a show for George so he had his workers dam the upper reaches of the river and construct a viewing platform at the waterfall that he and the King would stand while they released the water from above. However, George was so happy stuffing himself and getting totally legless in Powerscourt house that he decided not to bother going out to view the spectacle.

The next day after George had departed, they released the water which resulted in the viewing platform being totally destroyed and washed away. Whippings all round Id say with the odd serf thrown off the top of the waterfall for good measure!

Richard Wingfield died the following year and the estate went into trust as his son was only 8 years old. In I847 they cleared the land of tenants, during the potato famine as sheep were less trouble and more profitable! They did pay for passage to Australia for them {one way} which was very decent of them really!

George died in 1830 riddled with all types of diseases from a wasted life.

The act of ascendancy was done away with and grants from parliament stopped so they had to work for their living.

Between 1919 and 1923 over 300 houses belong to these "settlers" were burned out. A few including the Wingfields were left alone as they were the "better" ones.

The government of the new Irish Republic placed a compulsury purchase order on all the land that was vacant which drove the estate land owners into bankruptcy and they left. Very few stayed and those that did turned there houses into hotels or opened them to the public or started business`s to survive. Many were left vacant and seized by the state and were renovated by the Office of Public Works and used as government buildings or opened to the public.

In 1961 Powerscourt estate was purchased by Michael Slazenger, a consultant and surgeon, who owned the Slazenger sports business which he sold to Dunlop.

His daughter now runs the estate as a business and does wonderful work attracting companies and tourists from all over the World. Im glad they own it as I dont feel like Im trespassing on my own land anymore!

Orignally Powerscourt was owned by the Power clan who were anglo normans who came here to overthrow the Irish but they liked the Craic here so much that the "became more Irish than the Irish themselves! " There castle was knocked down and there lands were given to the Wingfields who had slaughtered us in the 9 years war and driven the Irish Chieftains into exile in "the Flight of the Earls".

The Power clan, obviously driven to drink by losing there lands,, went on to create a vast" Powers Whisky" business in Waterford and isnt that a lot better fun than having to kill people though thats debatable really!!!

It took 700 years to win our freedom and I dont think we would have ever given up. Thankfully we have all moved on and the World is now a better place. Britain and Ireland are now friends in every sense of the word and we will need each there now more than ever.

I do hope you like my photo and history bit!

I will catch you all later!

P@t.

By the way, the tree in the r/h corner is a Sessile or Irish Oak { Quercus petraea } and it is more common here than the English Oak { Quercus robur } preferring the dampness of the humid river valleys. The main difference in the two oaks, apart from overall shape is that the Irish one has leaf stalks where the English one does not. as can be seen clearly in the photo.

Oaks are such magnificient trees.

The "World of Wax" originally opened in 1961 in a street level location of the Crystal Garden at the corner of Belleville and Douglas. Displaying some ninety figures, this attraction establish North America's first exhibition of Josephine Tussaud wax figures from England. In April of 1971, Canada's 13th Prime Minister, the Right Honourable John George Diefenbaker, officiated at the museum's grand re-opening.

In Year 2000, the Royal London Wax Museum has an inventory of some 300 wax figures that have been sculpted in England, the most recent of which is "The woman of the Century". Decades of enhancements have gone well beyond the simple accumulation of wax figures. The multi-faceted "World of Wax" experience has been magnified not only through audio-visual technologies, but also through complementing displays such as the Crown Jewels Theatre, the World War I Field Surgical Hospital Kit, the thousand year old piece of cedar, replica sword of Genghis Khan, and original opera chairs crafted in 1987 for the Prince and Princess of Wales.

North America's first Josephine Tussaud Wax Museum remains the "flagship" establishment on the continent, and is a major contributor to Victoria's image and reputation as "A Little Bit of Olde England".

Ruddy shelduck have a reputation for their aggressive quarrelsome nature and as such are more popular for wildfowl collections with plenty of space. Their rich coppery-cinnamon plumage, pale buff head and black bill, legs and tail is both striking and unusual. To go with their bold nature ruddy shelduck utter a very noisy nasal whooping call.

Ruddy shelduck have a wide and varied habitat but favour inland fresh water and are rarely seen in coastal habitats. They are often nocturnal in their feeding behaviour.

Ruddy shelduck have varied nesting sites in their natural environment from holes to crevices. Relatively easy to breed in captivity, they lay large clutches of 8-12 eggs incubating them for about 28 days.

The only problem was I couldn't afford to be in the snake pit, which was over £500!! and you didn't even get to meet her.:(

Oh well, here's some of the shots I got from the nose bleed seats, better then nowt hey.:)

Have a great Monday Y'all..:)

Yesterday I saw a post on the local community pinboard. The image depicted a man waving arms at a gull taking off with a young child seemingly held by it's feet. It was of course a composite image that wasn't particularly well done. Sea gulls have webbed feet so I am not sure how it was really supposed to be grasping a small child. I suspect the lift required for a gull to get airborne with twice it's own body weight would also exceed the capabilities of it's wings by some margin. Trouble is, there would have been someone out there who thought it was a real scene. They are protected here on account of declining numbers, but people still despise them for reasons I can't understand.

Here is a young Herring Gull just minding it's own business and watching me from the top of a street light. I did not think for one moment it was sizing me up as possible breakfast.

Reputation is everything

Snoop Dog living up to his reputation snoops beside the Poinsettia bush...looking good Snoop!

MALA REPUTACIÓN

(Bad Reputation)

Me importa un carajo mi mala reputación.

Vives en el pasado, es una nueva generación.

Una chica puede hacer lo que le plazca

Y eso es lo que voy hacer.

Y no me importa mi mala reputación.

The Richard and Gloria Manney John Henry Belter Rococo Revival Parlor

The Richard and Gloria Manney Rococo Revival Parlor is a showcase of the most original of American mid-nineteenth-century furniture designers. After perfecting a lamination process that permitted layers of wood to be bent and carved to a degree previously unachievable, the German born Belter proceeded to exploit it's design possibilities to the fullest. In the 1850s his highly ornamented sets required a nationwide reputation, and demand for them soon transformed his New York shop into a large factory.

The room's architectural elements-windows,columnar screens, doorway, cornice, and rosette-are from the double parlor of an Italian style villa in Astoria, Queens,in about 1852. The original double parlor had relatively small dimensions and no fireplaces-factors that made its reconstruction in this space inadvisable.Instead,it's beautifully detailed elements were used to create the parlor of a type illustrated in a designed for an Italianate villa published by Minard LaFever in The Architectural Instructor (New York,1856, plate LXIII).

Three objects in the room-one of the console tables, the fire screen, and the mantel mirror-have recently been acquired for the permanent collection,in time for the 75th Annual Celebration, after having been loans since the room opened in 1983. The console table is a rare match to the other one installed in this room;practically mirrored images, both tables are attributed to Belter and exhibit finely executed carvings of naturalistic fruits and flowers,as well as unusually pierced legs. The firescreen retains its original needlework panel.A rococo shell is the dominant motif in the carved and gilded oval mantel mirror.Oval-shaped mantel mirrors are rather unusual, and additionally, this is the only Rococo Revival mantel mirror in the Museum's collection.

The Consolidated PBY Catalina was a versatile and widely used flying boat and amphibious aircraft during World War II, renowned for its long range and durability. It served multiple roles, including maritime patrol, anti-submarine warfare, search and rescue, and convoy escort, helping to protect Allied naval operations. The Catalina’s ability to land on water made it indispensable for rescuing downed airmen and stranded sailors, earning it a legendary reputation in aviation history.

GPW Heavyweight Title Match

Bubblegum © vs. Dirk Feelgood

Just a few months ago you'd be forgiven for taking a double take at this match. The friendship between the two former friends totally imploded with the desire to become Heavyweight champion. Refusing to accept the demise of his friendship with Dirk Feelgood, Bubblegum spent months in turmoil not wanting to retaliate to the cutting comments and brutal attacks levelled his way by former friend and champion Feelgood. As time went by however, Bubblegum eventually unloaded on Feelgood but this will be the first time the two have ever come face to face in a one on one match. And to make things just a little more interesting... it's for the GPW Heavyweight Title. Can the fairytale championship reign continue for Bubblegum, or can Dirk shatter his dreams and become the first ever 2 time Heavyweight Champ?

Tag Team Special, Skeletor vs. Stella

Lethal Dose vs. Voodoo & "Sober" Mike Holmes

Alan Alan Alan Tasker's henchmen, Lethal Dose march into battle against former stable member Mike Holmes and the man they hold responsible for Holmes' new found sobriety - Voodoo. Cyanide and Toxic hope to tempt Holmes back over to the stable that two months ago he turned his back on. They want to snap him out of the spell they accuse Voodoo of putting him under. However, Holmes seems very happy with his new outlook on life and he and Voodoo look to send Lethal Dose packing in this tag team special. Lethal Dose have warned they will not be coming to the ring alone though, with them along with their attorney and law - Alan Alan Alan Tasker will be a 12 pack of Stella. Hoping the case of beer will prove to be a bigger demon to Holmes than the tag team itself. To fend off the 12 pack, Holmes and Voodoo will have Vooodoo's trusty skull, Skeletor in their corner. An unpredictable tag team match. Can MIke Holmes stay sober? Will Voodoo's spells work? Or will Lethal Dose deliver a beating big enough to break Voodoo's spell?

GPW British Title Match

Jak Dominotrescu vs. "Super" Sam Bailey

After pinning the British Champion last month in a tag team match, WKD's "Super" Sam Bailey has earned himself a title shot at GPW: "Christmas Crunch". Bailey, already a former tag team champion looks to add to his growing reputation by capturing his first ever singles gold in GPW. While reigning champion, Romanian Jak Domitrescu along with his cohorts - The Eastern Bloc look to make life as difficult as possible for the energetic live wire. Domitrescu has held onto the title since April this year with help from his fellow countrymen, but are his days numbered as champ? He surely wont be alone in this title outing and will have the Eastern Bloc close by, but can "Super" Sam Bailey overcome the odds to win his first singles gold in GPW?

And, the main event for the evening is...

GPW Tag Team Title 2/3 Falls Match

MIl-Anfield Connection © vs. Young Offenders

The heat just got turned up in this feud. The re-united Young Offenders have the most established tag team in GPW - The Mil-Anfield Connection firmly in their sights and not to mention the tag team trophy. These two teams met in September this year where there was no clear winner decided after the match ended in a draw. There will be NO excuses this time to not find a winner. This, for the first time in our history will be a 2/3 Falls Match for the tag team titles. A winner HAS to be decided, but who will it be? A truley epic encounter is in our midst as Jiggy Walker & "The Model" Danny Hope try to cling onto the championship that has defined them as a team and "Dangerous" Damon Leigh & Joey Hayes, The Young Offenders chase the title that one of the most popular tag teams in Europe have never held. Can the re-united friends overcome the well established unit that is The Mil-Anfield Connection? Or can the well oiled duo of the Mil-Anfield do what they've been doing all year and win again?

GPW British Title No.1 Contenders Match

Harry Doogle vs. Juice vs. Dylan Roberts vs. Chris Echo

After an eye catchingly good year from rookie Dylan Roberts, he has been included in this battle to earn a shot at the British Title. With a burning desire to win and the fans firmly behind him, Roberts could well mark his arrival onto the main roster by becoming the No.1 Contender and going for gold here. However, his opponents wont give him an easy ride. In a wonderful CC-08 tournament, no one impressed more than WKD's Chris Echo. Echo reached the CC-08 finals with two broken wrists and proved he is ready to take a step up. His previous attempts for British gold have been thwarted by the foreign legion numbers of the Eastern Bloc, is he ready to prove again that he is worthy of being No.1 Contender and finally lift the British title? Juice, the current CC8 champion has been as impressive as ever in singles competition this year, but can he compete in this match with 3 others all vying to be No.1 Contender? Also replacing Jervis Cottonbelly due to injury is Harry Doogle as a last minute entry could one half of the next gen score the upset win? , but with so many possible outcomes who will leave with the plaudits and go on to challenge for the British Title next year?

Lumberjack Match

Si Valour vs. Heresy

A violent and personal feud that has lasted all year long finally comes to a head in what promises to be a violent Lumberjack Match. Ever since brutalising Valour and cutting off all his hair, Heresy has, in some form or other dodged the challenge of Valour. Heresy claimed not to have lost his bottle or be running scared of the 2007 Break Out Star, yet during their Bull Rope clash at GPW: "V" where the two were tied to one another, Heresy still managed to find a way of escaping and creating distance between him and Valour. This time, in a special Lumberjack Match, no matter where either man go - there will be no escape. All lumberjacks will be at the ready to ensure neither man can escape the others clutches and a clear winner, one way or the other will HAVE to be decided. There will be nowhere to run to and nowhere to hide, no matter where they look. Heresy has been one step ahead of Valour all year, is this where he runs out of excuses, or can the master manipulator manipulate another win?

Reputation: Magpies are well known for their thievery, avidly collecting shiny objects to adorn their nests. They will also feed on the eggs and chicks of defenceless songbirds, a nasty habit that has caused a decline in many familiar species.

Reality: Magpies are not thieves, merely inquisitive. They are interested in objects but show no preference for shininess. It's true that they are voracious predators of songbirds, but there is no evidence that this has resulted in a population crash.
