We will carry the laughter and silly times she instilled in us over the years and continue to tell her stories.

You were a good bean, Kanj.

Hold your friends tight.

Tell them you love them.

We never have long enough.

If you would like to share your memories and stories of Kanje, you can do so here.

As I wait for the road to the summit of Pikes Peak to reopen, I've been looking back over some of the images I took through 2023. So, here is a series of re-imagined shots from last year.

Watching the Lancaster flypast here at Sheringham's 40's weekend. I thought we should remember those that didn't return.

So with maybe a little artistic license. 🤔

Photo was taken this summer, near Spiddal, Co. Galway, Ireland

A day along the coast led me and my meetup group to a location I have longed to explore. Turns out that at low tide it is magical.

In Remembrance of those who died ....and for those who still serve to defend us ...

A flower found at Greece - Rhodes.

my dad was 20 in this picture... he served in WWII in the pacific as a member of the us army air corp which would eventually become the us air force.... in the pacific, he was the flight engineer on a b29... i believe he is pictured here with a b17... handsome young fellow too...

when ant and i visited him this weekend, he was in grand spirits... he talked to ant about school... the importance of an education.... good stuff... sometimes that sharp young man still shows himself...

We planted this flower a couple of years ago to honour the passing of this beautiful girl. We can't remember the name of the flower, but will never forget, Muffy, who travelled to many places across North America from the time when she could fit into the small area above the steering well

Remembering the life lived by a family member

This is my digital art depiction of the battle of the Alamo in the artistic style of Charles Russell.

The Battle of the Alamo (February 23 - March 6, 1836) was a pivotal event and military engagement in the Texas Revolution. Following a 13-day siege, Mexican troops under President General Santa Anna reclaimed the Alamo Mission near San Antonio de Baxar (modern-day San Antonio, Texas, United States), killing most of the occupants.

I’ll disappear in the fog as a foreigner to all life, as a human island detached from the dream of the sea, as a uselessly existing ship that floats on the surface of everything

This is from our holiday in Dorset this year. The meadow was full of Butterflies, especially Meadow Browns. It's been a little bit chilly and overcast here in the last couple of days so I fancied something that reminded me of warmer days. HFF!

Remembering... when Memorial Day was called Decoration Day... and we used to weave red, white and blue crepe paper streamers through the spokes of our bikes, and Dad would march in the parade with his baseball team, wearing that green and white satiny PAL shirt, and we would sit in front of the house and wave to him, and later, we would march too, with the Girl Scouts, and one year, I got to carry the flag .... and people alongside the parade route would hand out little American flags... and we would eat red, white and blue popsicles...

More importantly, as we head into this Memorial Day weekend, don't forget to remember what it is really all about. We remember, we will never forget.... all the brave American heroes that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Thank you.

When you look back on times we had

I hope you smile

And know that through the good and through the bad

I was on your side when nobody could hold us down

We claimed the brightest star

And we, we came so far

And no they won't forget, yeah

Whenever you remember times gone by

Remember how we held our heads so high

When all this world was there for us

We believed that we could touch the sky

Whenever you remember, I'll be there

Remember how we reached that dream together

Whenever you remember

When you think back on all we've done

I hope you're proud

When you look back and see how far we've come

It was our time to shine

And nobody could hold us down

They thought they'd see us fall

But we, we stood so tall

And no we won't forget, yeah

June 20th 2009 I came back from Hong Kong but it seems as if it was yesterday. This city will forever have a special place in my heart and I hope to return as soon as possible.

November is a time of remembrance. This is a time to reflect before we move into the Christmas Season.

So here is a flame for all our loves, all our losses.

But while we burn our candles, our lights, our votives, remember them with fondness, remember them with kindness.

Soften the difficult times with a loving flame.
