My mood is reflective and I was thinking of this day last summer.

I remember saying on a photo of this series that it was like a Hamlet cigar moment. So because my camera was on a tripod I was for a change taking 4 shots in overlay mode in camera which then blend into one photo and this is another such shot with a more powerful wave hitting the rocks...Sue x

And hey darling sipping that red wine,

All classy, kicked back on the couch.

You smile and I see ya shootin' tequila,

Us shuttin' them college bars down.

And no matter how much time goes by,

And no matter how much we grow up,

For worse or for better, from now 'til forever,

I'll always remember you young.

When I saw this butcher shop on Elizabeth street in NoLita I was quite saddened.I searched the story on line because I wanted to know what happened to this wonderful butcher and his business.

Moe Albanese, known to many as Moe the Butcher unfortunately died from COVID-19 back in April, just days short of his 96th birthday (see right window).I just broke down and cried when I read that.Moe's parents opened up the butcher shop in 1923.He learned the trade from his mother, his father was an immigrant from Sicily.Albanese took over the business in 1956.The meats he sold were of the highest quality and he generated a lot of customers through the years. As he grew old his granddaughter,Jennifer Prezioso, joined the business adding modern touches to the shop. They eventually had to close it due to the pandemic. His granddaughter posted updates on Moe's condition on her Instagram page when Albanese fell sick up until the moment he died. She also wrote a beautiful eulogy on his life on the page.

19 years ago today, the Twin Towers in New York City were brought down by terrorists who flew planes into the towers. Those of us who stopped their lives and their hearts that morning will never forget the sheer horror and disbelief we felt collectively as a nation..

I hope that remembering this dreadful moment in time will help to bring us all back together again in these troubling times we find ourselves in now.

Bless us all, Lord, bless us all.

We will remember them,

The ones who stood tall,

Who fought for their country,

The ones who were willing to fall.

We will remember them,

The ones whose lives had shined,

Who were mighty and bold,

May the world be defined.

Look at all our nations,

Oh how far we've come,

As every person will stay in our hearts,

We shall stand one by one.

It has been just a little over a year since we lost this precious cat.

Thanks to everyone for visits , comments , awards and invitations

For ever if I'm far away

I hold you in my heart

I sing a secret song to you

Each night we are apart

Remember me.

My first cat - she was a similar colour to Daisy, but was long-haired.

I had a wonderful visit to UT Arlington's re-creation of The Alamo @ maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/UTArlington%20III/161/112/23. I was truly impressed with how accurately modeled the entire sim was, and loved being able to enjoy it there virtually, particularly because I'm a Texan myself and have seen the Alamo and surrounding area many times. I hope you'll pay them a visit. You'll learn a lot about all that happened here, and I hope appreciate how well it was re-created in Second Life.

Decades ago when I was a teenager, I went to a Remembrance Day ceremony honouring veterans and the dead from the World Wars. As people were bowing their heads at the playing of the last post this man was moved to tears.

White Rose For Remembrance

It is with sadness I post this image this morning. My dear Flickr mate Graham www.flickr.com/photos/105795663@N04 passed away yesterday, after a battle with cancer.. Graham will be very much missed for both his wonderful images and keen sense of humour.

I am sure you will all join with me in sending condolences to Ingrid, his wife.

I am posting this in the 100 Flowers Group as up until last year Graham had participated in the group.

Remember the days when tomorrow was none

We lived in the moment, we lived with the sun

Spending our hours on castles of sand

Letting the waves bring us to land

Remember the evenings late by the sea

Orange horizons covered the trees

Let's wait to the moment when no one's around

These beautiful days we once came from

Remember the time when we flew to the calm

Surrounded by mountains, ideas from the ground

Spending our hours where no one could see

Growing our thoughts beneath a tree

Remember the lake side, time moving slow

Turquoise water reflected by snow

Minutes to hours, no movement to come

These beautiful days we once came from

Remember the days when tomorrow was none

We lived in the moment, we lived with the sun

Spending our hours on castles of sand

Letting the waves bring us to land

Remember how you overcame some obstacle in your life? Today I wanted to give up because everything that I tried wasn't working. The breeze kept knocking my props over, I was working with snails that didn't want to participate. I wanted to quit and was tearing up because of the frustration of it all but I stopped and observed a spider struggling to climb it's line. The breeze would move the line and the spider just kept moving and with grit and determination it finally got where it was headed. I decided to do the same and although I didn't get exactly what I wanted I endured the battle and have something to show for it.

Prayers for all those families affected by the Terrorist Attack 20 years ago on 9 1 1. God Bless America.
