The petals have fallen but the stamens and style (pistil) of a glory bush, princess flower, or Lasiandra, Tibouchina sp, persist.

Thank you for your visit. I appreciate any faves or comments that you leave very much and I am grateful for invitations too.

This poor soul lied on the handrail of a wooden bridge above a small creek. No idea how it got there. Most likely it was snatched from the creek by a predatory bird, which somehow did not pick it apart and just left it there. Also on the handrail was remains of another crayfish that had been thoroughly picked over and down to its shattered claws and shell.

This was taken during my recent visit to Guardalavaca playa, weather was not great but this image shows the destruction of what Hurricanes can do on an unprotected beach.

Für Yantra - werde bald wieder gesund!

I never truly get the shot I want at this place as we are driving by on a small highway and this is set back a bit.

This one was not too bad.

“I think perhaps I will always hold a candle for you – even until it burns my hand.

And when the light has long since gone …. I will be there in the darkness holding what remains, quite simply because I cannot let go.”

There is a crack in everything.

It is from there that light enters.

This is at a secret spot in Palos Verdes where I find myself at often. I took this photo right where the dominator shipwreck crashed in 1964. Not many remains but it still makes for a good picture.

Pittosporum Flower

I spotted the remains of this Pittosporum flower today. With the petals gone it measures around 5mm long.

This was - until very recently - a sprawling industrial estate with a little retail use.

Seeing what was left reminded me of P.B Shelley's poem 'Ozymandias' (hence the title).

Remains of the world war 2 torpedo test range bridge on the beach of Surendorf, Baltic Sea, Germany (see Image map).

The former bridge was destroyed after the war. A lot of years later, the german Navy has build a new bridge, for a new torpedo test range, on the left side of this remains.
