I regret not having a mirror shot to this one coming to the island, but that is a life lesson THAT I HAVE LEARNED THIS DAY.
The buildings in beyond are in Arlington County, VA.
Last week's assignment was a carry over from the "Fall Colours" theme, and even though I'm late posting, I had a couple of shots "in the can",... here goes the second of my two photos.
I was really wanting to shoot "Autumn Colours" by the light of the autumn moon this year. I love taking long exposure shots and wanted to see what the moon's light would do to all of fall colours,... but alas, I missed my very tiny window of opportunity this year. The next full moon will be the "Hunter's Moon" and most all of the fall colours will be gone by that time, but no worries, I'll just try again next year.
Cheers,
Although I regretably took the Nikon Coolpix S3100 on this Yorkshire trek instead of the D5100 a few photos taken with the camera fell among my favorites. This is one of them. After viewing thousands of items covering thousands of years of history at the Yorkshire Museum it becomes a blur. This photograph accurately depicts that for me. Effects come from reflection of lighting in the display room on the glass case in which the items are displayed.
Seagull chowing down on a pigeon. He walked away when I came in close, but when he saw I wasn't going to get any closer, he came right back to his meal. What you may not be able to see is the pigeon down nearby. Whatever took the pigeon out hit it hard.
