When I saw this beautiful guy posing in the sun, I really regretted that I left my camera bag at home. So I decided to give my cell phone camera a try - not expecting really much. What shall I say, I was really suprised about the result. Not a professional macro, but quite reasonable in my opinon...

Beim Anblick dieses hübschen Kerlchen, der in der Sommersonne posierte, habe ich mich schon ein wenig geärgert, dass ich meine Kameratasche zu Hause gelassen habe. Ich war dann stattdessen neugierig, was meine Smartphone-Kamera so hinkriegt... und was soll ich sagen... ich war echt überrascht vom Ergebnis.

WILL BE OFF LINE FOR TWO WEEKS. WILL MISS YOU ALL.
Wading through mangrove swamps. in 30c + of heat, and the massive problems of trying to work out what bird to try and capture first, life will be unbearable,,,,,,,,,, lol.
This is my seventh visit to the Gambia, with my brother Bob, we took a last minute deal, the above image was taken on my first trip out, if you can see me, a bit dated now, especially the camera equipment.

Quand on est à Lauterbrunnen, une autre excursion "indispensable" est bien "Jungfraujoch Top of Europe". Pour cela, il faut prendre deux trains : de Lauterbrunnen à Kleine Scheidegg, puis de Kleine Scheidegg à Jungfraujoch.
Quand vous sortez du train, vous êtes tombez directement en hiver. La neige est encore intacte même à mi-août. Le spectacle est une fois de plus grandiose. Plusieurs randonnées s'offrent à vous. Mais personnellement, mes genoux ne m'ont pas permis de marcher sur la neige :( Quel regret ! :(((
When you are in Lauterbrunnen, another "essential" excursion is "Jungfraujoch Top of Europe". To do this, you have to take two trains: from Lauterbrunnen to Kleine Scheidegg, then from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch.
When you get off the train, you have fallen straight into winter. The snow is still intact even in mid-August. The spectacle is once again awe-inspiring. Several hikes are available to you. But personally, my knees did not allow me to walk on the snow :( What a regret!: (((

I can't stop allowing myself to go back to Smithville to capture this tree. I love to photograph it in all the seasons and one important thing I have learned is to never take it for granted. I had a very special tree in the Smithville Lake area that was taken down without notice and I regret not photographing it more. I guess this can apply to many things in life (family, friends, etc). So here I am, early in the morning mesmerized by the shape of the extended branches along the country fence line and the glow of the sky. I ended up blurring out the grass to give the sole focus on the this magnificent living specimen. I am just awed by the shapes here as if it were drawn on the page.

This title better applies to places where they are born spontaneously (Europe mainly) because in Brazil pansies can be considered a sought-after gift since you have to cultivate them if you wish to have their beauty and colors enchanting your life.

I have not regretted bringing in a bunch of these beauties to raise. With their inconsistency in how much time they take to eclose (hatch) after pupation, it's always a gamble. They can be ready to fly in a couple of weeks or several months. So far so good, I am considering myself lucky because they have been eclosing in a timely manner. Twenty-one have been released already.
I am not really a superstitious person but in this case, I believe I will cross my fingers and wish that the remainder will continue to eclose until the last one flies away. Not too far away, I want to see them in the yard.
In order to see any of them in the yard, there needs to be a lot of them flitting about. The goldrims seem to be a favorite caterpillar and favorite butterfly snack for the birds; Especially the Carolina Wrens. The wrens will perch and watch the butterflies then target one for a takedown. And they leave no leaf unturned while looking for the caterpillars.

J'ai décidé de me garer au bas de la petite route qui serpente vers Rabou, et de monter à pieds, à travers les champs gelés et les prés frissonnants. Prenant rapidement de la hauteur, je n'ai pas regretté ce choix inhabituel, même si la voiture permet d'aller beaucoup plus haut et bien plus vite. De bosse en bosse, je recroisais le serpent de bitume, avant de le laisser contourner la montagne.
J'aime beaucoup ces étendues champêtres sur lesquelles traîne un reste de neige : les sillons se dessinent sur les champs où le blé perce à peine, terre peignée, brossée au blanc, devant le spectacle des montagnes -- ici la Grande et la Petite Autane, à gauche, et le Piolit à droite : ce sont les sommets les plus au sud des Écrins. Entre eux se creuse le cirque de la Rouanne.

Nanchang is a pedestrian street in old part of Wuxi. It is where young people come for entertainment and to spend their money on whatever is trendy. The street runs along a canal, but what surprised me is that all business is concentrated on the street rather then the water. In Canada, a restaurant with a seating and view on the canal would be the draw. In Wuxi 无锡, there was not visible life facing the canal, except this moored boat. My only regret is, not getting a barbecue frog on a stick. There was no next time..😢.
- With a tour you get your 30 minutes (It feels like a dog, being taken for a 'walk') and then it's back-to-the-bus.
