Last week's 217 attempt was a failure, but I woke up this morning to hear that another CW40-8 was leading 217 and was working Jessup. A quick drive up the street gave me a few decent shot opportunities while they were pulling out of the yard.
is it so bad? I just wanted to upload something.
I'm home from school these days, so I hope I'll be able to post some good shots. I have a lots of time but the ideas and the concepts are never enough, you know.
The thing is, that I feel inspired only when I can't take photographs (school, while trying to fall asleep, and so on).
I HAVE TO TAKE MORE PHOTOGRAPHS.

Kea also took a wicked shot of this pic.

"No sé nada de correr, no sé nada de ascender,
de esta mierda de arcoiris, del cigarro de después, no sé ...
si la vida pasa en cueros, castigao a la pared.
No sé nada de aguantar, no sé nada de achuchar,
de ponerme de rodillas, de llorar para mamar, no sé ...
en cuanto acaben los tiros garabatos al papel ..."

I was wasting time down at Hamline Avenue waiting for a BNSF westbound at St. Croix and decided to start heading back west for the intercept. In the meantime a KCCN called to leave the Belt Yard and feeling déjà vu, East Hump lit up the St. Paul Sub westbound on both mains, this time even lining both moves through at Park Jct.
I passed on the Minnetronix parking lot shot and hiked into Union Jct where I was soon greeted by a pair of headlights coming over the hill simultaneously. The trains are speed locked, but BNSF wins again.
Wow, I cannot believe I never uploaded this cracker of a sunrise taken from Coogee Pools. I took this shot a day after another sensational sunrise (which I missed), I was super excited when I saw this coming over the horizon.
It was that bright I had to lower colour saturation! If only there were more sunrises like this! Or does the lack of AMAZING sunrises make these ones more special?

MQT-Z151-29 rounds the bend at Godfrey with 3413 leading the way back to Sparta. After a two year wait I finally got to catch these guys with perfect lighting to boat. Last time I was up here in Grand Rapids, I was block out of a shot due to Y106. Glad I was able to redeem it cause this was a railroad I did really wanna shoot.
Its June 9th and I found myself in Akron Ohio on an extremely hot/humid morning, well hot/humid for the month it is, as V089 flies through Akron. V089 at this point is up to track speed on the New Castle Sub bound for the BNSF in Chicago more specifically Ensign, KS for reloading. What is rare about this is that this train (V089) is bound for the BNSF and G089 is from the BNSF, Thus this train generally has BNSF Power, so catching anything other than BNSF and potentially CSX on this train is rare in itself, even more rare this is a BCOL C40-8M on the train and even more rare on the point. BCOL 4606 was last seen in ohio on G089 but before that V053 heading back to the BNSF in trail also behind another BCOL C40-8M. I really wanted to shoot the 4606 in the lead as i shot the 4604 last time leading.....
Last time I hiked Headlee Pass I had a lot of things going against me:
A. I didn't even know I was going hiking that day. Garrity stopped by and said "let's go exploring"
B. I might have been hung over. "Just saying"
C. I had no water or food because I really had no idea I was going hiking.
D. Did I mention I was hung over?
E. It was one of those years when I ate more than I exercised.
F. We got caught in a crazy rainstorm on the way down
I was seriously thinking of quitting hiking that day. The pain and suffering was a little too much. Yesterday, I did Mt Pugh but felt like I didn't get to see much. Its a little 4700 elevation gain stroll through the park. So today, I decided to give Headlee Pass a little redemption. After reaching Vesper Lake I decide to do a little exploring. I am glad I did, This is Copper Lake (I believe...but not sure) It was so unexpected! It was one of the coolest views of a mountain lake I have seen in a long time!
Going off blurry 10mm shots all day, I knew I had to nail this one. DM&IR 403 leads the way over Highway 61.
Psalm 27:5
5 For he will phide me in his shelter
in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
he will qlift me high upon a rock.

It was so dark in this little church in the woods that I thought there was no way to get a hand held image. I pressed myself against a pew and slowly pressed the shutter. there was just enough light from the window to give this a wonderful glow
One of my only real railfan goals in Hungary was to photograph the freight diversions on a line south of Szekesfehervar which still features an impressive array of semaphore signals. So on a predicted all sunny day I left Budapest bright and early and then managed to screw it all up immediately.... Since the line is seeing such heavy freight traffic the regular passengers trains have been busstituted and I stupidly got on the wrong bus at the station. By the time I had corrected my mistake I had wasted nearly an hour and in my walk from the station two freights went by. I was in a pretty shitty mood but finally just as I was losing light for this angle what came around the corner but one of MAVs heritage scheme M62s. Yup...I'm happy now!
