According to my trusty weather app, it's 97F here in New York City and 88F in Houston. I thought we came back to escape the summer heat...
*I've decided to remove it for it's really not a good image, but I wanted to ask for your opinion. I'm sure whatever happened, it probably had to do with me and not the camera. Perhaps I really didn't open the window entirely? Both of us remembered it was opened, and if it wasn't, I would have realized it afterward and immediately opened it fully and to retake another photo. But, maybe.... hmmmm?!?

This shot was deeply personal so I will let the viewer find their own way through.
I was inspired to do Demon Redemption by a pose by Be My Mannequin? called: Bathed in Moonlight. It has a very mystical feeling as if basking in an ambience. I was toying around with lighting and then as soon as I saw the red, this came to my mind and I had to capture it. You'll love Bathed in Moonlight as well! I bought some flowers from our local grocery store. A mix of tiger lilly's, carnations and roses and had some fun shooting. Which I haven't done in a long time. The title comes from a song that I was listening to by the group Zayde Wolfe called Redemption. Have a wonderful Sunday and stay well!
I'm back from a very unsettled week of weather on Skye. In over ten years of visiting this wonderful island it was just about the worst week I've had. On the last evening however things perked up and settled a little so I headed to the fairy pools. Conditions were superb so expect a few more from here but my favorite moment was when this rainbow appeared over the Cuillin and Skye redeemed itself.
I will hopefully catch up with everybodys streams over the next few days.

Beginning its westbound trek through the Rockies, the California Zephyr swings towards the portal of Tunnel 1 in Coal Creek, Colorado. This was my 2nd go at this shot, after my 1st attempt was foiled by Amtrak's lack of rested crews in February.
As chapter 3 of my roleplay begins..I find myself growing more creative and artistic to tell my story
Yesterday, I shared a photo of this juvenile tern rising from the water empty-beaked — a valiant effort, but no catch. Just a few hours later, at the exact same spot, the same young bird tried again… and this time, success! With wings wide and droplets flying, it emerged from the water clutching a tiny fish. Proof that persistence pays off — and a satisfying sequel to yesterday’s miss.

Lake Isabelle, Ward, CO
A few weeks ago, I made an attempt to go shoot Lake Isabelle and fell short. That morning, I arrived and started walking towards the trailhead only to find piles of snow across the trail. Since it was my first time exploring the area, I decided against making an attempt to hike the 2.5 miles in the dark without a trail to follow. This morning I went out for redemption. As I pulled up to the trailhead, I noticed someone else getting out of their car. At 4am in the mountains, I assumed it was another photographer... I was right. I introduced myself and we made the 2 mile hike up to the lake together (shorter hike now that the actual trailhead was open). No matter how often I hike the mountains in the dark, I'm still slightly spooked, so it was nice to hike and chat with someone on the way up. As nice as it is to be alone in a beautiful location, I'm always open to shooting with/meeting new people. Landscape photographers are great, the people we passed on our way back down the trail with their cats on their shoulders, not so much (couldn't believe it).
*Upgraded my tripod yesterday to a Manfrotto 190go Aluminum and I am thrilled about the results it brought this morning. Very strong and lightweight. Anyone else using this tripod?
