2 males, 2 females at Widewater today
It was the first time this winter I have caught up with them. I was in for a real treat. The male kept chasing the other male and they were all displaying throughout. Wonderful sight :)
My first Red Fox shot. This one let me get out of the car and take some shots before it casually sauntered into the bush behind it.
Included in the comment box are shots of White-tailed Deer and Horned Larks.

Earlier this year I spent every spare minute I had photographing a Vixen which was heavily pregnant at the time. Through observing her movements and gaining her trust I was rewarded with many unforgettable encounters.
The highlight however was spending time with her and the cubs, which would wait underground in their den for the mothers return with food. It took 10 hours of waiting in total, but finally I was rewarded with some VERY special moments. More images can be viewed on my website linked below.

just caught these two roosters in the back of this bright red truck before they "squawked" and flew off.

I was watching birds on a lake when I turned and realised what lay upwind behind me ... this beautiful Red fox, resting in the grass next to the lake. The wind was up, making a lot of rustling noise, and I was downwind. In this scenario, the strongest sense I had to think about concerning the fox was its sight. Luckily, the little fox was resting, lying curled up in a position with its back to me, which meant it could not see me directly unless it raised its head and looked in my direction. I kept low, being uber-stealthy because even though resting those ears were sharp, upright, twitching and listening all the time. A good ten minutes passed before it raised its head then sat up, showing interest in something in the grass beside it. It was nothing worth more effort so it began to lay back down. This is when the little fox looked in my direction. I lay dead still. The fox stared, looking inquisitively - almost annoyed - and then unsure. More than anything I was wishing it wouldn’t run off. Then it stood up, its eyes fixed on me, turned and sped off. This was bittersweet for me. The sweet is that I got to see this beautiful creature and watch it resting in peace in its wild natural environment - a special thing to see. The bitter is that I disturbed it. Even if it couldn’t smell, hear or see me clearly, it was me who made it move off. Ideally, the little fox would have not seen me at all or gone back into its slumber so I could clear off carefully, undetected.

LARGE RED DAMSELFLY
- Pyrrhosoma nymphula
Photographed in my garden
Widespread in the UK, this species has a red abdomen with dark markings towards the end. Males tend to be more vibrant. It is often the first damselfly to be seen in spring.
The male is aggressive, fighting off other males entering his territory. Damselflies rest with their wings folded lengthways along their body (unlike dragonflies, which rest with wings outspread )
My winter red Cyclamen is blosoming in my porch. Blood red delicate flowers - so tender and sweet.

These flowers lasted into November - outside. I thought it was a Geranium but my wife just corrected me :-(
I like the graphic arts aspect of this shot. How'd I get that white background? It's the garage door behind the flower. Ha!
