if you ever visit kentuck knob, do yourself a favor and take a pass on the bus ride back to the visitor center. instead, walk through the woods and the sculpture garden. there, you'll find some pretty impressive pieces, including this one from Ray Smith, entitled "Red Army".

Red Kites hunting over Stokenchurch, Buckinghamshire, just off the M40/A40 junction. A hot sunny Summer day with plenty of rising air is ideal for these birds. These shots were taken with a Canon 200mmm EF lens; not particular good or long, but the birds are hunting down to 15 feet over the roadway. At one point, I had 8 adults in a single frame. In 30 minutes, I saw 25-35 birds; truly remarkable and one of the great wildlife spectacles of Southern England.
The Red Panda or Lesser Panda, Ailurus fulgens ("shining cat"), is a mostly herbivorous mammal, specialised as a bamboo feeder. It is slightly larger than a domestic cat (40-60 cm long, 3-6 kg weight). The Red Panda is endemic to the Himalayas in Bhutan, southern China, India, Laos, Nepal, and Burma. Red Panda is the state animal in the Indian state of Sikkim. It is also the mascot of the Darjeeling international festivals. There is an estimated population of less than 2,500 mature individuals. I went down to Mayfest just to check out what was going on, take some people shots, and see if there was anything worth eating. There seemed to be, but for way more than what I was willing to pay.
For those not in the Tulsa area, Mayfest is a bazaar held each May in downtown Tulsa where local and area artists set up booths to show off and sell their wares. All sorts of artwork...from crafts to paintings to photography can be found here. Plus the overpriced food vendors.....
I shot this one in Manual, underexposing in-camera by almost two stops. Photoshop work involved removing some blue tinges out of the red, plus intensifying the contrast just a bit in Curves.
Mary Akoye, an IDP beneficiary of a food distribution conducted by CTP on 17th March 2017, pounds sorghum in order to prepare a meal for her family. Before the food distribution, Mary and her family members used to eat raw mangoes and wild leaves.
