I have been watching this red camellia out of my bedroom window and this morning it had popped... I love when the flowers start coming out.. Seems it is so quick because we have waited so long...
The roses on campus have been really slow to recover this year, but there's one area over by the administration buildings that's thriving. Where most of the roses on campus are just now putting forth leaves, these are in full bloom. I don't understand why, but I'm glad for it.

Trees sprout leaves for me to see
Cars drive by, and the driver's wave 'hello'
People smile and acknowledge you as they walk by....

As I mentioned a couple of posts ago I spent a weekend driving around Sweden with some of the guys 'n' girls from the local photo club.
Well, here is the first shoot from that trip, it's from a place called Töcksfors, here you can find this - I don't know if this is the right English word for it - old car scrapping yard right in the middle of the forest - click on the geotag link below to see the exact place.
It's a pretty big place, and there are some really old cars with moss and leaves all over, I really recommend this place if you are into making photos of old decaying cars.
For me personally it's not that big of a kick but I did get a few decent shoots out of it

HDR made from 5 RAW exposures in Photomatrix, imported all the images into Photoshop, masked back the highlights areas, desaturated the red color, and finished it off with Topaz Adjust "Dramatic".

I have another teapot bell but not exactly like this one. And the photo of that one is framed and hanging in my kitchen.

After getting up late and going in the wrong direction on Line 1 on the subway I arrived frightfully late. I barely got into the Imperial Garden before being asked to leave in the usual Chinese fashion of being almost shouted at.
Red-legged Shieldbug.

Windrush.
A large brown shieldbug which has orange legs and slightly hooked projections at the front of the pronotum. The pale spot at the tip of the scutellum varies from orange to cream and matches the colour in the chequer board edge though in this chap it is bright red. Perhaps it darkens with age as photo was in mid September?

Feed mainly on Oak, Alder, Hazel and other deciduous trees. Adults are partly predatory, feeding on caterpillars and other insects as well as fruits.
