It doesn't hit me but when it does, it drops like a bomb.
I'd much rather not look at it.
But its so obviously thrown in my face, I couldn't live with my own ignorance denying it.
I'm too smart to trick myself. Yet the stakes of the games I play, are high. And there's only me sitting at the round table.
I deal the cards, I call the shots and i cheat.
Doodling is like the number one thing I've missed about college I think. Well. Probably not the number one thing. But. At least the number seven thing. At any rate, I've got a lot of them all doodled up already and it's only week two so I'm hoping to make many many more of these :)
The drawing's from sociology, the background photo is from the Oregon meetup, at the coast. Holy hell is it beautiful there, pictures honestly do it no justice.
Love yall, happy veeknd <3

In 1962, Andy Warhol created Campbell’s Soup Cans and exhibited it at the Ferus Gallery in New York. Thirty-two posters, each representing a tin can, are now on display as works of art. This is exceptional, because Pop Art has not been recognized in America until now.
Warhol is a perfectionist and leaves nothing to chance! Every detail matters and especially to Campbell’s Soup Cans! Look at it from a distance and you'll see thirty-two identical cans. However, he changed the taste of each of them: “beef”, “black bean”, “chicken noodle”, “onion”… Suddenly, Campbell's Soup is no longer a simple tomato soup, Warhol brings it flavor!
Warhol claims to be a heavy consumer of Campbell’s Soup: one per lunch for twenty years to be exact. He is not afraid of repetition and himself hums "the same thing over and over." So, a publicity stunt for the brand? Consumption is at the heart of American society, but it is still unthinkable to introduce it in museums!
The pop artist nevertheless intends to introduce reality, mass consumption into Art. To reflect the world around him, he uses advertising images, celebrity photos and comics. Pop Art takes note of reality and the Campbell’s Soup brand too: "Made for real, real life"!
Campbell’s Soup Cans is hand painted. Warhol uses screen printing but also uses paint. Here, it is to thwart the rules of art to make better use of them, but also, to look at things to see them better. "All things have their beauty, but not everyone knows how to see them" he said.
It was a very long wait to be picked up after a night tour of the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta last year.
With encouragement from friends, some passersby, and photographer Cassandra Storm, I rallied for a few more poses outside.
Exhausted. I'd been on my feet all day. At this point I just did not care and muttered to myself "Hurry up and take the dam photo so I can sit down and rest!"
"Click" and done. Whew!
Some of my girlfriends went out to dance and party afterwards. Not I. For me, it was pumpkin time.
Yet once back to my hotel it was impossible to sleep.
Insomnia was my companion this evening because my reality was finally better than my dreams.
Shouldn't it always be that way?
Inspiration for posting this image and memory came from a Flickr follower.
Thank you.

is this real or just constructed?
Was ist wahr, was ist falsch?
Ist die Welt so, wie sie scheint?
Was ist fotografische Wahrheit, was ist Lüge?
My nails done long, my makeup just so, I thought I could push the envelope, extra short skirt and cute white heels. Upon exiting the clothing store, strutting along back to my car thinking I look my best, two men in a vehicle were beckoning each woman as they they passed. I had to pass them also so I did what any self-respecting lady would do, I ignored them.
"Ma'am, excuse me ma'am, may I ask you a question?"
Well as I ignored them they got irritated and I suppose looked at me with a more discriminating eye and then I heard behind me, "Sir, may I ask you a question".
As I blushed and smiled over this incident, I pondered. Am I able to do this only because I live in a polite and civil society? Is a little bit of brutal honesty occasionally helpful, letting me know how I am coming across? I think I value this as a way of helping me determine my limitations.
We should all do what, in the long run, gives us joy, even if it is only picking grapes or sorting the laundry.

Come on, most of us do it. Add a little color here, bump up the saturation there. This artist also seemed to be doing a bit of his own mojo on this scene, so I emphasized the "contrast in interpretation" a bit more.

For Our Daily Challenge - "escape"
For me, my almost-daily trips out around the beaches and landscape in Darwin is my escape. It's my downtime and relaxation :)
This one has had the colours pushed a bit to make it feel more "out of this world".

A team of researchers at ESA’s mission control centre in Darmstadt, Germany, are investigating new concepts for controlling rovers on a planet and satellites in orbit.
One approach is to assess the latest developments in augmented and virtual reality and how they can be applied to the stringent operational and safety requirements of spaceflight, both robotic and human.
“In one case, we are looking into emerging technologies such as virtual and augmented reality, working together with colleagues from ESA’s European Astronaut Centre in Cologne,” says Mehran Sarkarati.
“In particular, we are developing prototypes in astronaut operations and training while identifying scenarios for interactive spacecraft and robotic control.”
In this image, Steffen Bamfaste, a data systems engineer, demonstrates how astronauts might train in future to extinguish a fire inside a lunar habitat.
Similar augmented reality technology holds promise for satellite control by means of virtual displays and advanced, integrated team communication capabilities.
Today, engineers must upload a stack of commands to instruct a satellite to adjust its orbit or a rover to switch one of its onboard devices on or off, for example.
In future, perhaps they’ll do this with a simple wave of a hand.

I got a little wild on the abstract side today.
This is how it sometimes looks inside my head.... on the calm days ;)
“Like Plato’s description in his “Allegory of the Cave”: chained up in a cave, mankind creates a false image of reality, because all he knows of it are the flickering images of the things that a fire lit behind him throws on to the wall in front.” - Rafaelle Giordano, Your Second Life Begins When You Realize You Only Have One
