The Ram II tank—often referred to as the Ram Mk II—is a Canadian cruiser tank developed during World War II. Based on the American M3 Lee/Grant chassis, it was designed and built by Canadian manufacturers (notably Montreal Locomotive Works) to meet the Commonwealth’s need for an indigenous armored vehicle that could fill the cruiser role. The Ram tank series was conceived as a stopgap measure until more modern designs like the M4 Sherman could be fielded in large numbers, and the Mk II variant represented an improvement over the earlier Ram Mk I.

Just got back from Yellowstone/Grand Teton. I was able to give wildlife photography a shot for the first time. Saw these bighorn sheep in the distance on the hike up Mount Washburn, but on the way down they obliged by coming in quite close. I set a tripod up on the edge of the path and at times they were nearly brushing up against it as they moved around. After 40 minutes or so, the ram had had enough of the photoshoot and made it clear we should think about moving on and leaving the hill to them, so we did. It was a really cool experience though.
