A male Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep amongst a herd of many sits still for a moment for me. Taken in the Highwood Pass area in Kananskis Alberta.

Seventh post of eight wildlife species we found in Custer State Park and Badlands National Park.

This bighorn ram was spotted during the first day of our trip. Though I like getting shots of these guys in a classic badlands setting, the colorful autumn grasses will do.

Yesterday I posted an image of Singleshot Mountain in Glacier National Park. The mountain got its name from a story that George Bird Grinnell had dispatched a bighorn sheep with a single shot.

Well two days after I photographed the mountain, I got five bighorns with a single shot. Take that George!

The only shooting I've been doing is for my school (still working on reprints of student photos), so I was looking through the mass of photos I took last month of the bighorn rut. I'm not sure of the crop, but I keep in mind that the more square the photo, the bigger it displays on FLICKR. This fellow was just magnificent!

This big horn sheep buck has his head lowered ready for a clash. That just blows me away as I get a headache just looking at it , and yet they can ram each other many times. Unlike the NHL , they don't get checked for concussion syndrome.

Samedi 18 septembre 2021 me rendant à Nevers pour les JEP, petit arrêt improvisé à la dernière minute, afin de faire un IC reliant Paris Bercy à Clermont Ferrand. C’est avec une bonne surprise que l’intercités 5955, après avoir marqué un arrêt en gare de Moulins sur Allier, passe non loin du petit village de Bessay sur Allier, avec la 26156 avec une livrée carmillon propre et 2 coupons de 7 voitures corail, dont une rame de réserve en début de convois où l’on peut voir divers livrées sur ces dernières.

This is a younger ram that was hanging around and foraging with yesterday's more mature ram. I like the nest built in the rack crevasse above the ram. I was photographing the aurora last night in Wyoming. More on that later. Time for a nap. Jackson Hole, Wyoming, USA, February 2024

The mother Ewe pushed him to come out and greet us. Little Ram Lamb was born around this time last Spring. Here he is with his mom and another Ewe. These sheep belong to my neighbor across the road. This little fella is now a Pasture Ram. He will live out his days hanging out in the pasture eating grass. He's a lucky little guy!

Foto tomada el 6 de noviembre de 2021 en la estación de Huélago, conocida por algunos como la "estación de los doce pueblos", proveniente de pronunciar en granaíno Huélago, Darro y Diezmá. Esta estación de la línea Linares-Almería se encuentra entre el By-Pass de Moreda y la estación de Fonelas.

Este es el único tren diario que conecta Almería con Madrid, ya que aún no se ha retomado la circulación vespertina suspendida a raíz de la pandemia.

Talgo Almería-Madrid encabezado por las locomotoras 334.002 y 334.003, con la rama 6B3 pasa por la estación de Huélago, Darro y Diezma.

A une autre époque déjà, les EC 6 et 7 étaient quotidiennement tractés par des Taurus louées à la DB par MRCE Dispolok, faute de suffisamment d'engins moteurs. Le 21 Juillet 2013, voici l'EC 7 pour la Suisse, qui passe devant le village d'Oberwesel, au crochet de l'ES64U2-072. Les derniers EuroCity en rames tractées ont circulé entre l'Allemagne et la Suisse pour la toute dernière fois le 13 Décembre 2025, et ne seront pas reconduits sous cette forme au SA2026.
