Known as a Tup here - another 10 weeks before he goes to work. Seem to have capture him at an inappropriate moment!
Yesterday I posted an image of Singleshot Mountain in Glacier National Park. The mountain got its name from a story that George Bird Grinnell had dispatched a bighorn sheep with a single shot.
Well two days after I photographed the mountain, I got five bighorns with a single shot. Take that George!

The only shooting I've been doing is for my school (still working on reprints of student photos), so I was looking through the mass of photos I took last month of the bighorn rut. I'm not sure of the crop, but I keep in mind that the more square the photo, the bigger it displays on FLICKR. This fellow was just magnificent!

C'est non loin de Domeyrat, dans ma région natale, que passe ce Régiolis bien fade qui n'a de grandeur que son nom.
NL - Er was een tijd dat de 'Cévenol' een getrokken trein was en een feestje voor het oog was. Een bezoek aan mijn geboortestreek de Haute-Loire gaat helaas niet meer gepaard met mooie treinen, omdat de Cévenol nu met een Régiolis rijdt en nog alleen de naam mooi heeft. Domeyrat, 30 juni 2022.
I fought off a dog with my tripod once....but when I was staring down this guy I thought; I'm gonna need a bigger tripod.
I knew my tripod would lose today though. There was me, him and his wife and kids behind him. Behind all of them was where I was going so I backed up the bus and waited. With his unimpressed face I thought what the hell. I'll take a portrait today.
The villa Rams Woerthe in the Overijssel fortress town of Steenwijk was built as a residence at the end of the 19th century, 1899, by order of the Steenwijker industrialist and philanthropist Jan Hendrik Tromp Meesters.
Rams Woerthe is surrounded by a 10-hectare park in English landscape style, designed by Hendrik Copijn. In the park there is a long winding pond, parallel to the old, now dammed, Steenwijker Aa. There are about 45 different types of trees and shrubs to see, including beech, linden, horse chestnut, bald cypress and coniferous trees. Later a deer park was established. There is also a tea house in the park.

This ram has a wounded back leg. As he was on a small island in the Zambezi river, we guessed that he might have been attacked by a crocodile while passing over.
His survival chances seem to be good as long as he stays on the island as the predators most likely will not appear on this island.

Here's a sneak peek for you all, of our adventures in the Alberta Rockies this weekend. The wife and I took little drive up the Forestry Trunk Road in Western Alberta, to see some of the sights that we'd been neglecting for far too long. They did not disappoint!

Ramanagara is surrounded by natural granite rocks.In this region the iconic Hindi movie Sholay was shot. It is no surprise that this place is a haven for rock climbers and trekkers. To reach the temple one has to climb around 350 steps. The path leading to the top is enclosed by abundant greenery and the boulders, many of which have figures of Gods on them.
