De villa Rams Woerthe in de Overijsselse vestingstad Steenwijk werd eind 19e eeuw in opdracht van de Steenwijker industrieel en filantroop Jan Hendrik Tromp Meesters als woonhuis gebouwd. Rams Woerthe, gebouwd in art-nouveau-stijl (oftewel jugendstil), kwam in 1899 gereed.
This guy wasn't at all camera shy. In fact he and his herd-mates slowly made their way so close to the small group of photographers standing respectfully at a pullout along the road that we all had to fold up our tripods and move back several times so as to be able to get shots like these with our long lenses. And so as to be sure we weren't inadvertently disturbing the unperturbed rams.

Bighorn rams in early morning light. Good things happen to photographers who get out early. Our beautiful world, pass it on.
Pulling one from last year - a trip to one of our fly fishing lakes.
I forgot about the image - and wit improved software - it made for a beautiful image.
I found an exposed roll of Bergger Pancro400 in the darkroom yesterday, and I had no idea what was on the roll. So, I processed it in my last bit of D-76 I'd made some weeks ago - a developer I haven't used before with Pancro400. One of these days I am going to shoot a roll of a single, unchanging subject and cut the roll up into 3 or 4 pieces, and do a comparison between BER49, Rodinal, Xtol, and D-76 to see how each performs with this emulsion.
I have no data about what camera was used, or how the film was exposed. I'm guessing it was my Minolta Autocord, though.

Over the last few weeks I've seen several weathervanes as we whizzed by in the car and weren't able to stop and photograph.
However, yesterday I spotted this one on a balcony of a house in Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne ... not somewhere you'd expect to see a weathervane!
Cosina Cosinon 50mm f1.7, with detail extractor pp.
Some time ago, I tried and failed to repair this lens - the focus has jammed. It's stuck on one focal length (just under 3 feet).
But it's not a bad length, as the reason to use this lens is the unusual, fun and sometimes swirly bokeh it produces.
Una imagen del ramal (o ex ramal) más hermoso según mi opinión.

Pta: La camioneta hechó a perder un poco la foto pero es un reconocimiento a la que nunca falla y funciona casi con el olor del petroleo.
... su'it street, victoria bc ... campers and motorhomes were a common sight on city streets during the pandemic when the US border was closed but they are just as common now because people are living in them, an unintended consequence of local population growth, high rents and a low vacancy rate for rental accommodations
WAT PHRA RAM (วัดพระราม)
Wat Phra Ram is a restored ruin located in the Historical Park of Ayutthaya in Pratu Chai Sub-district .
The exact time of its construction is not known as the various Chronicles of Ayutthaya
give different timings of its construction. The oldest version, the Luang Prasoet, written
during the Late Ayutthayan era, states its establishment in 1369. Wat Phra Ram was the first constructed temple at the time King Ramathibodi I passed away.
The whole kingship is about the possession of great religious merit. Central to Buddhism,
but especially to Theravada is the acquisition of "Bun" (lit: merit). The concept of merit
was based on the law of karma (Th: kam) and was in fact the basis for the Theravada
Kingship. Constructing a temple was regarded as highly meritorious and the deed that
brought most merit. By donating the site to the monkhood, the king could acquire merit
at the same time as he showed his reverence for his predecessor or royal ancestor,
commemorated in the temple. To deposit the remains of a former king inside a prang or
chedi would also ensure his eventual rebirth as a Buddha.

Some people run for a blanket and hot chocolate when the weather gets bad, I run for my camera and car keys.
Bighorns know there is a gap in the high fence that keeps them off the highway at the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and use it to cross the highway. Dangerous for them, but the speed limit is 35 mph. Our beautiful world, pass it on.
I took this just a few minutes after sunrise while on a boat tour of lighthouses near Boothbay Harbor, Maine. The last time I was on this tour, there was a long catwalk from the lighthouse to the keeper's house. Below is a piece from the Boothbay Register newspaper.
The Jan. 10, 2023 storm that blasted the Maine coast took a piece of Boothbay region maritime history. The storm destroyed the lighthouse walkway at the 1883 Ram Island Light Station and damaged the island’s landing area. The 214-foot walkway, a reconstruction of the original, was installed in 2002 to connect the five-acre island to the adjacent light tower. Its piers supported five 40-foot sections and one 14-foot section. Ryan said the process, from designing and fabrication on shore to installation on the island, took several months. “Regarding costs ... let’s just say it wasn’t inexpensive,” he said.
The original walkway had collapsed and was subsequently removed by the Coast Guard in the 1970s as part of its own restoration efforts, according to the Trust. Currently, the Trust stewards the island, lighthouse and other buildings, and the Ram Island Light Station is on the National Register of Historic Places. However, the Coast Guard maintains the light operation, which was automated in 1965. Ryan said the Coast Guard still has access to the light by way of a ladder on the north side of the tower, and there are no plans to rebuild the walkway.
“The best part of the state of Maine is out there on the water,” he said. “It's just natural. It's a wonderful spot. And being on the island you just get a great sense of, I don't know, whatever that is. History, and all that. It's all wrapped up. Nature, history, it's all there.”
Watching Rams, the Australian remake of the Icelandic film of the same name last night, I realised this Christmas ornament would make the perfect subject for my daily photo.

The idiotic Alberta Provincial Government rescinded a decades old policy that prevented coal mining in the Eastern Slopes of the Rocky Mountains. This was slipped through without consultation, on a Friday before the May long weekend, in the middle of a pandemic. An open pit coal mine is now under development in the mountains visible in the background of this image. Not only will this permanently destroy a pristine landscape, it will also compromise the Ram River. This river is prime habitat for the at risk Bull Trout, and also feeds the water supply of more than a million residents downstream.
