About 97% of the fabric, bias tape, and rick-rack I used for these aprons was purchased from the Knittn' Kitten, our local gem of a fabric store.
I have a few of these old, well-worn test tube racks in my room all stacked on top of one another. I thought the pattern they made when viewed closely was interesting.
It is interesting that there are several common photography subjects that are usually most interesting when they are empty. The two that come immediately to mind are benches and bicycle racks.
For me, it is usually the shadow created by the rack that is of interest. Today, it was the repeated reflection of the sun.
Most times when I visit the zoo I try to take a shot of this bicycle rack. I love the design and it just fascinates me.

This is my rack. it houses a media center server on top, a nearby computer, a WHS and a remote backup VPN server for some offices on the bottom. HAI Home automation/security controller around the back.
Now THIS is a bike rack. A little roof to park your seat under in case it rains. Fantastic.
There are so many different bike racks here in Copenhagen, some with ways to cover the seat, but this is just cool.

Racks 'n stacks in tow, CN C40-8W 2136 and PRLX SD75M 200 (ex-BNSF 8200, née ATSF 200) exit the former Illinois Central at CP Swede on the Matteson Connection. They will use the former EJ&E (CN Matteson Sub) to Griffith, where they will enter the former Grand Trunk Western on their way eastward.
There was a rack of lamb in the freezer, so I defrosted that overnight, seared the sides and fatty edge before roasting for half an hour. I boil potatoes before frying, make sweet chilli stir fry, and to complete it, garlic mushrooms mixed in with crisped trimmings of lamb from the rack.

One of the nice things about tearing a house apart and rebuilding it is that you can design-in features that make your life easier down the road. That's what happened here: This part of our house was originally supposed to be a fireplace. But just when that started to look a bit too pricey, a friend announced that he was selling the rack from his video production studio.
We bought it, then built an alcove around it (with lots of power, data, and coax connections hidden in the wall behind). Handy-dandy. The top part, however, is a bit too high for daily/ergonomic use, so I've been on the prowl for random rack-mounted electronic thingys to install up there, if only to look interesting.
That quest led me to my new Radiac, yesterday. In addition, I also found a few new pieces of archaic electronic gear to fill in the top section of the rack. Check the notes to find out what each thingy is.
The racks are empty, the magical conveyances all at home, but ready to transport their owners on another journey tomorrow; and, for some, this may be the start of a wonderful adventure.
