" Todo ser humano gostaria de ser o primeiro entre seus iguais; ser superior de um modo ou de outro, aos que o rodeiam. Quer dominar, parecer maior e mais rico, mais bonito e mais sábio. A história do gênero humano é pouco mais que o pavor da inferioridade !!! " ( Giovanni Papini )

Dedicated to my colleague who is my official "buddy". Three years ago when I started working at this school, he was the one who was responsible for showing me all the Maths related things. He's a great guy and a great golfer.
For this design, I was given a task to produce an illustration based around a quotation. I used basic but effective techniques that can change the outcome of the illustrations.
The most beautiful things in life cannot be seen or touched, they can only be felt with the heart.

I think this quote may express perfectly the mixture of fascination and revulsion the cultivated byzantine chronicler felt describing the western barons that came to conquer his country.
Until 5 February 2023, Madrid is hosting the GAUDÍ exhibition, where visitors can learn about the life and work of one of the most outstanding figures in architecture and art on an international level.
In the context of Catalan Modernisme, Gaudí developed a radically new architecture with modern and original projects never seen before, conceived as a whole and planning not only the structure of the building but also all the decorative elements it would include.
The GAUDÍ exhibition highlights the originality of the forms, the ornamentation, the chromaticism, the richness of the symbols and nature as a source of inspiration, as the main protagonists of the Catalan's work. In addition to all these elements, which are impressive for their beauty at first sight, other aspects underlying his work are revealed, which reveal his innovative constructive solutions, the fruit of the study and painstaking work to which he devoted his entire life.
The exhibition offers a journey through his entire career through 7 sections and more than 150 works from the most important collections of his work, such as the historical archives of the Architects' Association of Catalonia and the Gaudí Chair, as well as some private collections.
From plans, drawings and models to furniture, ceramics and period photographs. All this brings us closer to his main architectural projects: the Vicens, Botines, Calvet, Batlló and Milà "La Pedrera" houses, as well as the Sagrada Família temple and his projects for Eusebi Güel, among others.
Check out all the information and don't miss this unique opportunity to get to know modernist Barcelona from the hand of one of its greatest representatives: Antoni Gaudí.

Do you remember? Do you remember his face? Do you remember the curls you always had to brush from his eyes? Do you remember the notepad he always wrote in? The one that made him feel like Jim Morrison? Do you remember his fingers snaking around imaginary chords, lips pursed in blue? Do you remember his tongue on your scraped knee? Do you still taste like copper strawberries? Do you remember the tantrums? Do you remember cheeks pressed together in the snow? Do you remember when you didn’t want to go upstairs? Do you remember the city whispering from the fire escape? Do you remember the bathroom’s peculiar echo? Do you remember the stained glass window? Do you remember our shared interest? Do you remember the maternal instinct? Do you remember the fragrance of necks? Do you remember the grand experiment? Do you remember the clandestine attempt? The dirty trenchcoats? Do you remember midnight static? Do you remember the muffled universe? Do you remember incantations, enunciations, recitations? Do you remember brushstrokes? Do you remember denim? Do you remember desire? Do you remember the infernal teasing? The baubles? The junk jewellery? The talismans? Do you remember the leather of his mouth, the tan of his voice? The roll of the dice?
Do you remember?
The shell reminded me of a snail - only most snails are not quite as attractive. This is probably for the best when one is aiming to avoid the notice of hungry birds.

Dad is also holding a Chinese puzzle ball, a 3D puzzle that consists of several concentric spheres, each intricately carved from one piece of wood. It's quite an amazing object to look at and ponder just how it was created.
This particular puzzle ball has 4 spheres. More complex puzzle balls have anywhere from 7 concentric balls, on up to the world's most intricate, which has 42 concentric balls enclosed within it! They're made from all sorts of materials, including ivory and jade, and are completely handmade. They're a puzzle because you can line up the various holes that form tunnels through to the innermost balls.
