Esta unidad y otras del Departamento de Bomberos de NY, me las encontré en una esquina junto a una boca del Metro, en la que entraban y salian ajetreados...aunque no se observaba, humo, victimas, ni estaba restringuido el acceso por esa calle...Lo que me llevó a pensar en un ejercicio de entrenamiento....y como me vi en medio, decidí tomar algunas fotos incluida esta que comparto...Pero me quite del escenario rápidamente.
Como nota curiosa, todos los vehiculos pesados llevaban el rosco navideño iluminado colocados entre los faros delanteros
Sometimes you see a sign that really speaks to you. I like visiting large cities but cannot imagine living in one. The one time I tried, I wanted to quit the scene so badly. Of course this is misspelled for my definition but even so.... (It was probably equitable something or another)
El Panecillo es una elevación natural de 3.000 metros sobre el nivel del mar, enclavada en el corazón mismo de la ciudad de Quito (Ecuador). Es el sitio más visitado de la ciudad. Por su ubicación se ha convertido en el más importante mirador natural de la ciudad, desde el que se puede apreciar la disposición urbana de la capital ecuatoriana, desde su centro histórico y hacia los extremos norte y sur. El Panecillo está coronado por una escultura gigante de aluminio de la «Virgen de Quito», creada por el español Agustín de la Herrán Matorras, el cual se basó en la obra compuesta por Bernardo de Legarda, uno de los más importantes representantes de la Escuela quiteña.

Le pucará (village fortifié) de Quitor est un site pré-inca daté du xiie siècle. Il est situé à trois kilomètres au nord de la ville chilienne de San Pedro de Atacama, dans la province d'El Loa, une des trois provinces de la Región de Antofagasta.
Le pucará est établi sur les flancs d'une colline et constitue une forteresse dotée d'un mur défensif. Il ne se visite plus mais se regarde de la colline d'en face !

Pukara de Quitor surprised me with this kind of door that is just looking to the Licancabur Volcano. I remember being there for 5 minutes staring at the landscape.

Now here's a picture that I know is going to polarise opinion.
It's the manifest in the previous picture, restarting from a signal check in one of the most wonderful places in the world, Caliente.
It's not so far from sundown, the last rays backlighting the clag to wonderful effect. All good so far.
But, I hear you ask, what is all that blotchy circley stuff? Well, they are 10 trillion billion greenflies. Bugs to you Americans. They are everywhere, they're fast moving and they are almost creating their own haze. I have no idea where they came from, or why. But they've caused an effect that we'll call interesting. Yes, that's good, interesting.
An enhancement or a ruination? Hit or miss? Your thoughts are, as ever, most welcome. Over to you...

Larry is finding that there's a few more distractions when he "goes to work" these days, than he's used to!
Simon and Pearl kept him company most of the day.
Simon made the perfect paperweight and Pearl acted as a receptionist, and guarded the door to make sure there were no unnecessary interruptions.
But their biggest job is letting Larry know when it's time to pack it in and call it a day!
Pearl says it's time to switch off the computer and take her out back to play ball, and Simon is reminding him it's almost time for dinner!
