A quick trip up to the moor tonight as the melt water from the recent snow has bought one of the waterfalls to life and even the moon decided to show its face for a while with a little help from the trusty X21R! The lights of Ilkley can be seen in the background. Seems like forever since I've been out light painting and was fun to get out again even in the howling wind and cold!
The tall building on the left is the AT&T Building in downtown Nashville, TN. The locals call it the Bat Building or the Bat Cave - it is quite distinctive and makes the skyline of Nashville look quite cool from any angle!
A quick staged shot at the beaches that are just due East of Destin FL. There was very little cloud cover all week, so I thought I'd work the bright & harsh sunlight to my advantage and saturate the shot with the colors that were around - the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the blue sky, the colorful chair and the Conch Shell! I opened up the aperture to really narrow the depth of field (and concentrate on the shell), which resulted in the very fast 1/4000 shutter speed.
There is a back-story to this shot... A vacation was originally planned to Destin several months ago as a destination vacation where a big group could celebrate a couple of birthdays. Unfortunately a month before the trip my brother-in-law & friend, who was going to be there to help celebrate, passed away. Years ago he went to college to study marine biology and over time had amassed a nice collection of different and unique seashells. The one in this shot was a favorite of his, so I brought it to the beach in his place, so he could be there in spirit! I think he'd approve of the trip, the symbolism and the photo! RIP Tony!

As one 0 Series set pauses for passengers, another streaks by at Odawara. Notable in the stopped train is the set's food service car.

Just a quick little cityscape from Montréal. I haven't had a lot of time to take photos lately, but I hope this one looks good!
By the way, I replaced the advertisements by more entertaining, fake ones. Feel free to zoom in to check them out.

Some quick figs to pass the time while we work on other, larger projects.

Just a very quick stop at Prestwick airport for a crew change during a routine training sortie for the official French Presidential or Prime Ministerial transport aircraft.
"Cotam Unité" is the official air traffic control call sign of any French Air Force aircraft carrying the President of France. From the 1960s to 1994, COTAM was the acronym for the French Air Force's Military Air Transport Command. In November 2010, the Governmental transport squadron (ETEC 65) received a newly refurbished Airbus A330 ordered by the government to be used as the presidential (or prime ministerial) aircraft replacing 2 Airbus A319.
Quickly, bring me a beaker of wine, so that I may wet my mind and say something clever.

Quick Shot …
A fish sandwich and a fries special at the Landungsbrücken in Hamburg has now become a tradition every time you visit the Hanseatic city. The actual flood protection dike was redesigned here. Offers street artists a large stage and invites you to stroll and take photos. The two DT5 units 417/418 with full advertising completely surprised me and could only be recorded with my cell phone at the last second.
