A quick drive from Traverse City, MI and just north of Empire, MI the Sleeping Bear Dunes was a beautiful place. We climbed over a mild into the dunes, but didn't have time to go all the way to the shore of Lake Michigan. The scenery was still amazing.
Sounds weird but was actually good. Was called into a meeting and had 30mins to prepare lunch. Took some leftover stir-fried tofu, sliced it up, put it on some toast with some Branson pickle,, picklelilly, shredded carrot and kale. Double pickle whammy! It was tasty.
Another quickly made bread - with oats, yogurt instead of buttermilk and some whole wheat flour. Quick and tasty!
Quick photo of Comet Q2 Lovejoy last night. The bright star to the right of the comet is Gamma Cassiopeiae (Navi). It is a variable binary with the brighter star having a magnitude of +2.18 and the dimmer companion having a magnitude of +10.88. This translates to Gamma Cassiopeiae being about 3,020 times brighter than the dimmer companion star. I think the dimmer companion star is at about the 3 o'clock position...very faint. A satellite passed through the field of view to the right of Gamma Cassiopeiae. The diffuse light in the lower left corner of the photo is the shadow caused by my neighbor's tree.
Improvements need to be made to the Driveway Observatory. Now, where's that chain saw?
Lady Liberty, greaved, clutching in her left arm the Declaration of Independence and the Spear of Reason, with her right hand (upon which is affixed the Shield of the Union) flicking a lit match into a pile of gasoline-soaked EXTRANEOUS MATERIALS that litter the front of URBAN SPRAWL. Liberty, the sun rising behind her is stepping onto a path that leads into the Unknown.
OK let me explain.
This is a very quick sketch I did because I wanted to see if I could still draw after all these years. Actually, when I was 7 or 8 years old, I dreamt of becoming a fashion designer, so I've been drawing ever since.
But its been 2 years, more or less, that I havent really picked up a pencil and paper.
Usually I have coloured pencils or paint around me, but right now I have nothing, except pen and paper :-( So the colours are done with computer.
This is not something I would necessarily wear, but I just wanted to see if I could still draw :-) I think her eyes look a bit scary though...
