Just saving some photos taken quickly from the first car show I attended Saturday. A small show with special meaning since I attended it a few years ago with my brother before he passed away. Only took a few photos. No need to comment, more from another show coming later. :-)
Quick shot of the ground floor windows of the accounting firm opposite my mate's house, the hazy colours through the netting made it look quite enchanting, for an accountants.
This is a very easy blanket that works up very fast using an N size hook and 2 strands of yarn at the same time . I used Lion Brand "pound of love" yarn in Pink and White. The pattern is from crochetpatterncentral.com and the pattern is called "bubbles baby blanket" and can be found in the "baby afghans" section. It's an awesome pattern! It's so thick and soft , like a little comforter .
I would love if you pushed "L" to view it in higher quality, or fullscreen as well. Definitely leave comments of criticism or compliments, they are greatly appreciated!!!

Shrewsbury is surely one of England's most beautiful towns lying within a giant loop of the River Severn. Wherever you stand in Shrewsbury you are surrounded by history, for this town is steeped in medieval heritage, which is matched only by the vibrancy of its modern cultural life. Shrewsbury boasts over 660 listed buildings but at its heart lies the Square, the cultural and economic focal point for the town for generations past. In the centre of the Square lies a very special building with an extraordinary past...
The Old Market Hall (originally named the Market Hall or Market House) was built in 1596 by the Corporation of Shrewsbury and is one of Shrewsbury's finest buildings. It reflects the town's prosperity towards the end of the 16th Century and especially its emergence as a major regional centre for trading. A previous Market House was built on the same site in the 1260s. This building was demolished to make way for the Market Hall.
Stone was brought from Grinshill, the choice of stone above timber, which was still used for almost all private building in the town, shows that this was a building which was more than functional. The building was intended to impress by its materials, style and scale and to give out the message that here was the region's premier market. It had two storeys: the large upper room was originally used by the Shrewsbury drapers or dealers in cloth to sell Welsh wool and the lower floor was used by farmers to sell their corn. The Old Market Hall was one of the earliest forms of prefabricated buildings; it was erected in less than four months. It bears the Royal Coat of Arms of Queen Elizabeth I, with the date of 1596, and the supporters are the English Lion and the Welsh dragon. On the North side of the Old Market Hall there is a statue of the Duke of York; it is the only one in the whole country.
In front of the Market Hall in the Square there was once a pool or bog. According to tradition this pool was called the Bishop's Pool and it would be the ducking pool for nagging wives and dishonest traders.
Shrewsbury possessed this instrument of punishment (the Bishop's Pool) as early as 1292. The offender was tied to a chair called the cucking stool or ducking stool, exposed to public derision and then immersed in water. A husband had to foot the bill of one farthing each time for each immersion. According to one chronicler, the whole purpose of this form of punishment was to cool the intemperate heat of the scold. It appears this custom was carried into the late 17th Century as in 1669 the Corporation accounts show the purchase of a new stool.
The Square has always remained a meeting point for the town with its open space in front of the Market Hall used for public events; markets are still held there today and it is the gathering place every year for residents to welcome in the New Year.
For 200 years the building remained at the heart of Shrewsbury's vibrant economy. By the early 19th Century however, there were significant structural problems and a proposal to demolish the building and start again was only narrowly defeated.
Over the next 15 years, between 1804 and 1818, major repairs were carried out; the stonework was restored, a new floor installed; the first floor was refurbished and subdivided, and it's main beams were supported on brackets supplied by the local iron founder, William Hazeldine.
By the early 19th Century the market for Welsh cloth had declined and the Drapers gave up the Market Hall room; it was converted into warehouses.
The ground floor undercroft became the location of the Saturday corn market, corn then being sold mainly on the basis of samples rather than by bulk. The corn market moved away to a new, purpose-built corn exchange (named the Market Hall) and subsequently in 1867 the building in the Square became known as the Old Market Hall.
The Old Market Hall became a venue for dances, volunteer Cavalry sword instruction, auctions, lectures on astronomy and even a travelling crocodile exhibition.
In the 1870s the upstairs was converted into offices and a courthouse. The building housed two courtrooms and service rooms and remained in use as the county magistrates court until new, purpose-built courts opened next to the Shirehall in 1995. When public hangings were the fashion many were held in the Square and condemned criminals would be led from the holding cell in the Old Market Hall to be hanged in front of the building. During the Second World War the Undercroft was given over to a brick built air public air raid shelter.
Once the new magistrates court was opened in 1995 the Old Market Hall became dormant and remained unused for a further 7 years. Without proper maintenance the building quickly began to fall into disrepair. The roof was in very real danger of collapse as the supporting beams, suffering from damp had long been rotten. Thus the Old Market Hall, by then a Grade I Listed Building and a Scheduled Ancient Monument, was added to the English Heritage Buildings at Risk Register.
This was the only video that worked. Anywy, next time I'm going to attach my GoPro to that *small front strut and use my wrist remote to run it. That way I can paddle. This was awkward trying to hold the camera and not knock the paddle in the water. 😂
* You can't see that strut it is just outside the frame.
A gift from a friend who thought she needed a good home.
The best part about her is she is my size,,, measured the French way, large. Top tube is perfect!
My friend said original owner claimed 1957, I have no way of knowing.
Serial # is 20630 , maybe it's a 63, who knows?
There is a city of Los Angeles sticker on the seat tube --- EXPIRES DEC. 64
I am certain this bike was modified years ago. Because of the cable routing (top tube) and cable stops (chainstay) I'm sure this was a Simplex bike with Centerpull brakes. All parts are period and have been on for decades except the Lefol's which I slipped on for the photo and the Ad Hoc pump.
Check out the longest shift levers you'll ever see, and both on the right side.
The Huret wingnut looks like a Micky Mouse cap....
She'll be here for FFD.

A quick visit to Hermann Monument (Hermannsdenkmal) on Sunday morning before (sigh) the rain came back.
In 9 AD, an army of allied Germanic tribes under the command of Hermann (also known as Arminius), who was a chieftain of the Cherusci, defeated a Roman army in the Battle of Teutoburg Forest. This year marks the 2000th anniversary of the Battle of Teutoburg Forest. The Hermannsdenkmal was built in 1841 (and finished in 1875), at the presumed location of the battle. Today, recent excavations suggest that the battle had taken place farther north, at Kalkriese near Osnabrück. Luckily Herman the German is a little to tall to move around :)
dropped this quickie at lakeside today....shout to Riot and Stage 2 not forgetting Fobek-Rust and all others of JFK-USA...

Quick, rough mockup of the wing shape to verify the accuracy of my plans. Next step is designing all the movable surfaces... which will take a long time. But, it seems like I have the shape down fairly well!
Quick walk around Buttermere turned into a not so quick walk after I spotted this waterfall. Ended up climbing about 1000 feet to reach the best spot.
Random puddle reflection shot in Amsterdam. Taken with my HTC Desire using the Camera360 Android app. No editing or magic tricks besides whatever that app did to the picture, no Photoshop :)
I've bitched and complained about this already a lot in the last 3 months, I am currently working 5 instead of my usual 4 days, and this is taking away all the time I usually reserve for shooting pictures and movies, so I have to improvise and take any chance I get to be able to create some photos on my way to the office, or the supermarket, or wherever it is I'm going. This is no fun, and the quality and quantity of my creative output is diminishing on a daily basis, something I don't appreciate and that I intend to reverse as soon as possible. Until then, these quick snap shots will have to do, I hope you're not too upset that you're having to look at these not-so-wicked reflections, lol :D

I had to some shopping and it had been sooo long since I went out dressed, so I quickly put this outfit together. The warm temperatures demanded I wear sheer pantyhose vs my usual opaque tights. It was so much of a thrill… didn’t want to leave the store!
A bit of visual fun. Just waiting for the right moment. Someone to walk past texting on their phone. Didn’t have to wait long. A recent study showed that people check their phones on average once every twelve minutes. The sign behind her is the Next logo but I had the idea to use it in a different way. Goodness knows where these ideas come from. I just ‘see it’.
The other day I was watching this male Mute Swan strut his stuff around two Trumpeter Swans. Every once and awhile he'd swim in circles and puff out his feathers........The two Trumpeter Swans tagged E90 and O38 would let out a few honks then go about their own business. The two Trumpeter Swans seemed completely uninterested in this lone Mute..I never saw his mate. Perhaps he's a lonely bachelor.........?? ;)
"The Mute Swan is reported to mate for life. However, changing of mates does occur infrequently, and swans will remate if their partner dies. If a male loses his mate and pairs with a young female, she joins him on his territory. If he mates with an older female, they go to hers. If a female loses her mate, she remates quickly and usually chooses a younger male."
Enjoy!! :)
