Early A. Bertin Barn Find
A gift from a friend who thought she needed a good home.
The best part about her is she is my size,,, measured the French way, large. Top tube is perfect!
My friend said original owner claimed 1957, I have no way of knowing.
Serial # is 20630 , maybe it's a 63, who knows?
There is a city of Los Angeles sticker on the seat tube --- EXPIRES DEC. 64
I am certain this bike was modified years ago. Because of the cable routing (top tube) and cable stops (chainstay) I'm sure this was a Simplex bike with Centerpull brakes. All parts are period and have been on for decades except the Lefol's which I slipped on for the photo and the Ad Hoc pump.
Check out the longest shift levers you'll ever see, and both on the right side.
The Huret wingnut looks like a Micky Mouse cap....
She'll be here for FFD.
