Good night my angel time to close your eyes
And save these questions for another day
I think I know what you've been asking me
I think you know what I've been trying to say
I promised I would never leave you
And you should always know
Where ever you may go
No matter where you are
I never will be far away
*
Good night my angel now it's time to sleep
And still so many things I want to say
Remember all the songs you sang for me
When we went sailing on an emerald bay
And like a boat out on the ocean
I'm rocking you to sleep
The water's dark and deep
Inside this ancient heart
You'll always be a part of me
*
Goodnight my angel now it's time to dream
And dream how wondeful your life will be
Someday your child will cry and if you sing this lullaby
Then in your heart there will always be a part of me
Someday we'll all be gone
But lullabies go on and on
They never die that's how you and I will be
Billy Joel

Our second round of pumpkin carvings, taken last Sunday.
My dad was out of town on business for the weekend, so unfortunately I had to take this photo with my humble Fujifilm, as opposed to the very fancy camera of my father I used for the last shot.
“Hello Sky, I was looking for you earlier but could not find you.” Said Barnaby looking concerned.
“I have been with Ellie and have been talking to her. She doubted that I am a genius, I was shocked.”
“I can understand that Sky, every bear knows that you are a genius.” Said Barnaby. “But then she is an elephant.”
“What did she actually say then Sky?” Asked Bertie.
“She said that I could not be a genius until I had managed to answer some very difficult questions. I did ask her to tell me what they were but she refused and said she would do it later, then she immediately fell asleep.”
“Do you think you will be able to answer her difficult questions then, Sky?” Asked Posh Bear.
“I don’t know, Posh, Ellie is very clever but she does cheat at times. When we go to the moon with her, she lands on the wrong place and then because she does not know, she asks me where we are and the easiest way back home again.”
“Yes, she does that sometimes. Even the ellicopter has no idea where it is or even if it is the right way up.” Said Bertie giggling.
“Well, she is often sound asleep when we do land and we often do that backwards and downside up. I am surprised she is still allowed to fly.”
“Yes, me too.” Said Posh Bear. “You could always switch to asking her very difficult questions Sky.”
“True, but then I would need the answers and if they are very difficult, I might not know the answer.”
“Well, let me ask you a question then Sky. How many leaves are on a tree?” Said Posh Bear.
“Posh, that is a stinker of a question, I would have no idea at all.” Said Barnaby looking upwards at his friend and waiting for an answer.
“I don’t think I know Posh, more than three I would say, and sometimes they have no leaves at all, plus, I dare say it would depend on how big the tree was.” Said Sky.
“There we are then, Sky. You say you do not know but you have just given me three answers and they are all correct. It is highly probably there are more than three leaves to a tree, sometimes there are none at all when it gets cold, and as you so rightly pointed out it depends on the size of the tree.”
“Yes, I suppose so, I was rather clever, wasn’t I?” Said Sky looking surprised at himself.
“Indeed Sky, remember you should always just accept that there are some questions no bear can answer, but do not feel upset because you do not know all the answers all the time. Ellie is naughty being so mischievous and doubting you like that.”
“Yes Posh, I think you are right, Sky is still a genius, isn’t he?” Said Barnaby who never doubted his friend at all.
“Indeed, he is Barnaby. I am sure that there is no other bear that knows of more ways to acquire jars of honey when he is a touch hungry. I think even after your visit early this morning, Sky, I still have enough jars left for everyone to enjoy after the man has finished up here.”
“I am sure you have too, Posh. I have ordered extra to give you back those that I borrowed and they should be with us later today.”
“How many jars have you ordered then Sky?” Asked Posh Bear.
“Well, I am not entirely certain, my paws are much bigger than the thingies on the man’s composter that I order through, and I am not sure about numbers when they are above three, but I think there should be enough and a bit more. I aim for one of the numbers but with my paws I tend to hit several, so it will be a surprise again.” Said Sky smiling happily that the job was done.
Random question: do people in your "real life" know your flickr account/ personal photography stuff? I saw on my stats that some referrers where from facebook and that makes me nervous...I don't know why, I guess just because I'm scared people will think I'm weird for taking sps. Does anybody else feel that way?
should i do a 365 thing, guys?
i've kindof been thinking about it lately, but i have some reservations. i already have well over 365 pictures of myself, so i'm not sure what i'd need more for, so i'm just thinking about it, and i'd like your opinions, if you have any.
i'm not sure i'd have the time to keep up with it, but i'm looking for something to challenge myself with this year. i know taking self-portraits isn't that hard for me, so i'm wondering if there's a way i could make it more interesting.
i could do 365 pictures of not-myself, but i'm sure a lot of these will be done in my house when i get home from school/work late at night, so taking pictures of objects around my house might get old. plus, there's usually more options for pictures with people in them.
or i could do 365 not-photoshopped pictures, but i <3 photoshop lots and i don't feel like it's that much of a crutch for me (though i assume lots of people might think otherwise). plus the whole bragging about "sooc" is kindof lame, ngl.
i could also try to write a small something to go along with each picture.
so i don't know.
also, where would i post them? on this flickr, i imagine, but then where would i post pictures that were not-365 related?
i know it's generally better to post as little as possible each day and not bombard flickr, but that's difficult enough for me as it is. i could make another flickr for a 365, i guess.
so, yeah, what do you guys think (assuming anyone cares)? any ideas to how i could liven up a 365 project? how do you guys approach it, if you do at all? what are your reasons for doing it? do you think it's kindof a boring/generic thing to do? if i were to do one, do you think i should post it here, or make a new, 365-exclusive flickr/tumblr/something else? i would like to know your thoughts on anything, if you wouldn't mind telling me. :]
(for the record this picture is a few weeks old, not the beginning of a 365.)
She's just such a lovely doll. I *think* my girl is flawless, though occasionally the way the lens captures her right eye makes me question if it's a tiny bit wonky in some way. It might just be that stern little expression of hers wincing at me though. ;)

Coasts of Ireland #7 - #Clogher Coastline aka “The Washing Machine”.
Quite possibly my favorite shot from an #Ireland trip, the stunning and rugged Clogher coastline. Below the sea cliffs lie amazing rock formations pounded relentlessly by the ever churning sea. Golden sunset light bathes the formations in a warm glow. The separation of all the different colors this digital back captures is truly astounding. Just wish it wasn’t $40,000+ !

If we look at the current offer of the various manufacturers in terms of photo cameras, all the models display a particularly extensive technical sheet. Therefore, a recurring question arises: is it possible to come across a "bad" box?
In fact, it all depends on what we are talking about. In terms of image quality, all cameras, even entry-level, are capable of delivering high-quality shots, with a good level of detail and excellent color reproduction. Similarly, all cameras sold today exceed (by far) the performance of their elders in low-light photos. A few years ago, capturing shots at ISO 6400 was almost unthinkable; today, it has become something "almost" commonplace.
In fact, the difference between two boxes will be played on other criteria. I'm thinking in particular of the autofocus: not only in terms of the speed of capturing the subject, but also of the effectiveness of the detection and tracking of the subject and its eye (human, animals, vehicles, etc.).
Likewise, burst speed – but also buffer capacity – are two important aspects.
Finally, ergonomics will be a rather interesting point to study: even within the same brand, some devices are more pleasant to handle and use than others.
In the end and in my case, I decided not to acquire new cameras even, if I must admit to you that I was very interested in the new Nikon Z9 after having had it in my hands for a few time and loaned free of charge by the importer of the sign in Belgium!
My conclusion is that with my relatively large collection of Nikon cameras and lenses, I decided to continue shooting with my two flagship cameras, the D500 and the D4s and only used the others occasionally!
For the lenses the problem is obviously different since they will always remain functional with any chosen case!
Have a nice day and see you soon artists :D
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
The definition of art has been a controversial topic for many years, and even Plato was against it !!!
He believed that art’s mimetic properties threatened the physical order of the tangible world. Plato feared artists because they could control their audience and ask questions that should only be asked with answers. In his ideal Utopia, Plato believed that art should not be taught, especially to the children of the Guardian Kings, who were the only ones allowed to ask questions.
The integration of artificial intelligence (A.I.) into the realm of art has sparked a debate regarding the capacity of A.I. to produce art.
A.I. FUNDAMENTALLY OPERATES AS A SYSTEM OF ALGORITHMS THAT CAN ANALYZE AND PROCESS DATA TO MIMIC HUMAN INTELLIGENCE.
As we navigate the evolving landscape of A.I. and art, it is crucial to remain open-minded, foster dialogue, and establish ethical frameworks that ensure the harmonious coexistence of human artistry and technological innovation.
With proper human integration, an individual can use A.I. to create works of art that mimic and serve as educational tools, just as Aristotle noted. Ultimately, the value of art, as with any technology, lies in the intention behind it, not just the process itself.”
After yesterdays disappointment with the zoo today i also had to spend quite a lot of time home alone. She has to work in Belgium (this is quite a drive but maybe she will find yummy chocolates and beer for me?) and she won't be home until late, so we are left to fend for ourselves. I know he can cook but he just seems to eat salad in this warm weather, so i can't take any chances and need to provide for myself. I found a piece of old bread and am going to attempt to lure some sparrows close enough to catch. I'm guessing that i would need quite a few for a decent pie....and now it's just a question of waiting but if any of you see one please let me know...
In everything we do we are challenged with the question of: Is this right? Is this good? Will this be accepted? And in all of those questions, it is easy to be tricked into thinking that the answer is what we are seeking. But I believe what the artist's soul looks for is not an answer to AM I GOOD ENOUGH, but instead a way to break the question entirely.
www.promotingpassion.com/quieting-yourself/
If I try to answer the fundamental question of "Am I good enough?", inevitably the answer is irrelevant. That the question is asked at all proves that we seek validation to what we create. In an attempt to break myself from that validation, to stop the person inside of me who would silence my more adventurous spirit, I will be creating new works. The question will not be if it is good enough, but instead, is it enough - for me.

.. when I came upon these two vultures, they were watching two (full size) plastic swans which had tiny motors allowing them to cruise around the pond. The vultures seemed totally confused.. not knowing if those things would be a nice meal, or not. The pond had alligators which made real swans out of the question!

This photo is dedicated to Shero6820. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for simply asking,"Could her kimono be on back to front?" That one question led to me solving every, every problem that I was having with this doll: No, her kimono was not on backwards, but her head was! This also caused her arms to have the wrong hands on them, and created the puzzle of why I could not get her arms into her kimono! Thank you a million, trillion times!

After my experience of the picture"One Day Time lapse", which was composed of 1500 photos, I decided to come back in a "Another Milky Way" composed of 5000 photo taken within 48 hours. I said earlier in an interview with a foreign magazine that I always try to show natural things as abnormal, I mean, not because it is irrational, but to show how great it is.
If you have any question, please write it in a comment, and I will be happy to help you all!

There are a lot of photographers don't know what does mean photograph many photos during a certain period of time .. The question is: Are all the 5000 images which taken during the 48 hours contains the same content found in the last picture?... The answer is simply no! .. The sun will shine in a time and sets at a time, and the moon as well and this means that part of the images does not contain the moon or the sun and at the same time when the photographer chooses a particular time for photographing the Milky way certainly in time with no existence of the moon or the sun. Overall, the photographer will receive a certain number of images for several moments (sunrise, sunset, moon, stars, etc.) for a full day or two days of photographing on one point or several connected points to be merged all together at the end. So, 5000 doesnt mean 5000 images overlayerd .. If you just overlayer it you will get NOTHING .. So i pick up the best momments (sunset, moving of the moon in 6 places, and the milky way, ) other pictures i use all of them to get the color of full day .. If someone thing its a big number, fine, but i like to capture big numbers of images, i have fun with it .. Summary of speech: Big nummber of images doesn't mean all the time "TIMELAPSE" and the Stars are lines or some poeple asked me about the disapperd 4994 moons in the picture. There are those who pick up a large number of images for a certain period of time to document the stages of one phase(exp. one day), like me, for example ..

During my last stay in Northern Germany I visited the same site as last year for a second take on the European common spadefood. This time, despite the terribly dry and hot summer, I was able to find six Individuals during the night and early morning, five of which had just recently undergone metamorphosis. I later learned, that the population in question acts as one of two donor populations in a reintroduction effort. Some spawn is harvested and tadpoles are reared in captivity for head starting purposes. Some of the metamorphs then are not used for the reintroduction program but returned to the donor population to compensate for the prior harvest. A batch of such individuals had been returned to the site just before my little night hike and so accounted for the relative high number of animals I encountered. I am deeply grateful to people working on projects just like this, doing their best to sustain and reconnect populations of threatened species in an increasingly fragmented landscape.

Daily Photo - Chicago from a Chopper
Chicago is an awesome city and I always have a good time there. This time of year, it gets a bit cold... and if you don't have a good coat pre-buttoned before you go outside, well, that's a big mistake.
I have a good friend there that arranged a helicopter for me in Chicago and took the door off! I hung out for a few hours battling the backwash as we circled the city and flew in and out of the buildings. This is one of the shots from that series, and I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I did shooting it!

The dam at Blanchard Springs was constructed in the 1930's by the CCC. The dam forms the three-acre Mirror Lake, and the water is constantly fed by the 58-degree water from Blanchard Springs.
Blanchard Springs is located in the Ozark National Forest, in northern Arkansas.
Helpful tips for taking Waterfall Photography:
1. Shutter speed is important in waterfall photography! Tastes vary in how people like to see the water flowing over waterfalls presented in a photograph, but we prefer using a slower shutter speed for a motion effect to the water. A fast shutter speed will show individual waves and droplets in the water, but a slower shutter speed actually shows the path that the water travels – the slope of the water off the fall, the arcs of the water as it splashes off a rock on the way down the falls. For us, this makes a more interesting picture. Typically, we’ll try for a shutter speed of ½ to 1 second if we can, but will try to at least keep the shutter slower than 1/15 of a second.
2. ISO matters. To keep the shutter speed slow, we set the ISO on the digital camera as low as it will go (usually 100).
3. Use filters if you have them. If the light is bright enough, we may not be able use the shutter speed we want to. When this happens we use either a neutral density filter or a polarizing filter can be used to drop the shutter speed.
4. Use a tripod. With slow shutter speeds, you will need a tripod to steady the camera. Also, remember that with a shutter speed this low, anything moving in the picture other than the water (e.g. people, foliage blowing in the wind) will also be blurred.
5. Make sure the camera is level. A photograph of water that appears to be flowing uphill is very disturbing. I really try to remember to use my bubble level – and to make sure it is level for my waterfall photos. I’ve deleted more waterfall photos than I care to remember of water running uphill in the picture.
6. Direction matters. Remember to check the direction of the falls, to determine the best time of day for light hitting the falls to give the most dramatic photograph. Great Falls is best photographed in the morning.
7. Seasons matter. Check out the falls in different seasons, e.g. does it look best with new spring foliage? Best in the fall with the leaves turning? Some other time? Since spring and fall tend to be the wettest times of the year, these are usually good times to catch falls at their peak levels.
8. Research before you go. Learn what you can about the falls, and what you’ll need photographically, before you get there. If you know that name of a waterfall you want to photograph, search for it on Google. Chances are someone has posted information about photographing that set of falls somewhere on the web.
9. Be prepared to do some hiking. Most of the waterfalls we have been to involve some hiking in hilly terrain (it is tough to have a waterfall over perfectly flat land). So don’t forget comfortable hiking shoes for the trail, a water bottle (especially in hot weather), sunscreen and bug spray.
10. Takes lots of photos at various exposures. You may be surprised at what you discover what your preferences for waterfall photography are.
The Waterfront line heads up the slope and enters the tunnel heading for Tower City.
The Waterfront RTA line opened on July, 10, 1996. Interestingly, this line passes under and has a station underneath the Detroit-Superior Bridge (where the abandoned since 1954 streetcar / subway route is). This is the newest RTA line and is a light rail route, not a grade separated / heavy rail metro route like the red line.
