En fait, non. Il semblerait qu’en dépit de mon anonymat quasi-total, cette question ne soit pas pertinente dans l’immédiat ; celle qui mérite d’être posée, ce samedi à 9 heures en temps universel, est plutôt : où suis-je ? Vent. Ciel changeant, nuages filants reflétés sur les façades de verre. Quartier d’affaires désert, salariés évanouis, papiers voletant à ras des trottoirs. La ville nouvelle comme vous ne l’avez jamais vue, comme elle ne peut apparaître à ceux qui la fréquentent : vide, au petit matin. Ce genre d’ambiance m’émeut toujours et je ne sais jamais expliquer pourquoi. «La beauté des quartiers d’affaires» (1). Comme la plupart des espaces urbanisés dans la seconde moitié du XXe siècle - avoir un ami chercheur en urbanisme -, cette sorte de ville est juchée sur une colline*. Je marche au milieu des rocades silencieuses et découvre l’immense banlieue qui s’étale jusqu’à l’horizon.
Je présente Roland, Fabrice del Dongo et Ferdinand Bardamu à trente-cinq adolescents venus des quatre coins de la terre pour essayer de comprendre quelque chose à la littérature française. Lourde tâche que la leur ; j’admire la résignation comme la bonne volonté que chacun y met, mais je fais comme si l’une et l’autre allaient de soi. Les héros ont leur âge. Nous parlons batailles, épopées, narration. Ils prennent des notes de leur orthographe hésitante.

How to phrase this question without offending too many people in this most PC of times is going to take some doing. So to hell with it I'm going to ask in my own thick northern way.
How do you get the right balance for taking a photo of a black person? I assumed the built in metering of the camera would have it sussed but seems not.. I encountered this problem the other day. This guys face came out really dark compared to rest of the picture, and although I've adjusted it a little it just seems to have blown out the back ground and still not much detail on the geezers face. I await the expert guidance from you.............
