Mausoleum von Pakistans Staatsgründer Muhammad Ali Jinnah, genannt der große Führer = qaid-e azam (häufig auch falsch: Quaid-e Azam).

Mazar-e-Quaid (Urdu: مزار قائد), also known as the Jinnah Mausoleum or the National Mausoleum, is the final resting place of Quaid-e-Azam (Great Leader) Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, as well as his sister, Māder-e Millat (Mother of the Nation) Fatima Jinnah, and Liaquat Ali Khan, the first Prime Minister of Pakistan. Located in the Jamshed Quarters neighborhood of Karachi, the mausoleum (Urdu/Persian/Arabic: mazār), completed in the 1960s, is an iconic symbol of Karachi throughout the world. It is one of most favoured tourist destination of foreign tourists visiting Karachi.[1]
The Mausoleum building was designed by famous architect Yahya Merchant. .[2] It is made of white marble with curved Moorish arches and copper grills reset on an elevated 54 square meters platform.[3] The mausoleum is located in a 53 hectare park and the size of the building is 75x75m on ground and 43m high, built on an 4m high platform. In each wall is placed an entrance. Fifteen successive fountains lead to the platform from one side and from all sides terraced avenues lead to the gates. The cool inner sanctum reflects the green of a four-tiered crystal chandelier gifted by the People's Republic of China.[4] Around the mausoleum is a park fitted with strong beamed spot-lights which at night project light on the white mausoleum.

Medallion portrait carved as a proposed design for SAMA Saudi Monetary Agency. The portrait is carved by Artist Khalil Najmi. The artist is already involved in designing new photo-effect coins for the Pakistan Mint. In this portrait King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz is shown praying to Allah Almighty and his lips are open and the tounge seems uttering the word Allah. This picture was carefully selected from a set of portraits downloaded from internet. The portrait is a symbolic representation in this way to present him as the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques and a true leader of the whole Muslim Ummah.

nearly halfway through and tired... I'll have to take a proof and see how this is turning out...
this is the obligatory "quaid-e-azam" that every pakistani artist worth his/her salt is supposed to do... you know... cuz ... whatever ... anyways.. I like this almost non-cliched picture of him for this cliched piece of drawing etc.
I'm curious but too tired to work on the hard part...

Strange conditions here.. probably a combo of dim light and overexposure (which I just seemed to keep doing this day... grr!) anyway, makes for a kinda neat shot of this 777. Looks to have had a shoddy paintjob too, not surprising they re-repainted the fleet! Flight PIA787 / PK787 from Quaid-e-Azam / Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, Pakistan.

True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. The great blessing of mankind are within us and within our reach. A wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing for what he has not.
