The Pyramid of Djoser, designed by Imhotep was built in the 27th Century BC, and is composed of 6 mastabas on top of each other.

One of the many Egyptians standing around the pyramids gave us the head cloths, telling us they were gifts and offering to take our pictures. After taking our pictures, he of course asked for money. We refused and returned the head cloths.
There were quite a few pyramidal orchids at Happy Valley in Surrey this year. Most of them were under an inch in height (the flower, not including the stem). This specimen was over two inches in height. The picture was taken with my 17-85 IS lens and a Hoya +4 close-up filter.

La pyramide du Louvre, completed in 1989, is a large glass and metal pyramid, surrounded by three smaller pyramids. The large pyramid serves as the main entrance to the Louvre Museum.
Should probably add some grain - but this shot from the desert behind the pyramids has only horse & wagon, camel, horse transportation evident. The large gash was an attempt by one of the Muslim rulers of Egypt to dismantle the pyramid but he didn't get far.
The largest is the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops). The other one is the Pyramid of Khafre (Chephren)
