A couple days ago I got to go to the tippy top of the Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco (Crown Jewel club! lol ). This shot is from the 48th floor conference room. They even offered to open the window so I could get a clear shot! :)
The Pyramid of Austerlitz is a 36 meter high pyramid of earth, built in 1804 on one of the highest points of the Utrecht ridge. Atop the pyramid is a stone obelisk from 1894. The pyramid was built by (bored) French soldiers under General Marmont, who was inspired by the Pyramid of Giza (Egypt). The original name was ‘Mont Marmont’. 1806 the pyramid was renamed in Pyramid of Austerlitz (after Napoleon's win of the battle of Austerlitz - now Czech Republic) - Austerlitz - The Netherlands

The middle pyramid is the Khafre pyramid( It is interesting to note that the Khafre pyramid appears larger than the adjacent Khufu Pyramid by virtue of its more elevated location, and the steeper angle of inclination of its construction – it is, in fact, smaller in both height and volume-Wikipedia)

This Myan pyramid is at the site of the ancient city of Chichen-Itza in the Yucatan jungle. The pyriamid is known as El Castillo. It also goes by the name of the Temple of Kukulcan. About 35 years ago I climbed the steep 91 steps on the side of this pyramid and entered the room at the top. It was a hot, humid day in the Yucatan, and I could never accomplish such a feat gain. In fact, tourists may no longer be permitted to make the climb. I scanned this photo from an old print.

I was heartbroken to find that you're not allowed to climb Chitzen Itza any more, thanks to some selfish senior who got themselves killed while descending the pyramid just three years ago.
That said, I was thrilled when I found out that Cobá, the second tallest extant Mayan temple, is still fair game. Woo hoo! This is me, actually at a different structure -- the Cobá Group Pyramid, post-climb.
